The cottage location was perfect, with a village shop and pub/restaurant within walking distance. All the crockery, cutlery, fixtures and fittings oozed quality.

This property is in an ideal location for the holiday we had in mind when we booked. Close to Peterborough, very close to A1 access (without any traffic noise) and with easy access to London on the train either from Peterborough or Huntingdon, close to Oundle and Stamford. The cottage is extremely well appointed with off road parking, a large garden and with space and comfort inside, having been upgraded to a high standard.

The property was of a high standard. The cottage was very well kept with excellent furnishings, best quality towels and bedding ever had in a holiday property. Heating and log fire made this a very warm cottage which was needed at this time of year.

The owners have bent over backwards to make this property comfortable with furnishings, decor and kitchen utilities sensitively applied to this very old building and their welcome pack and Spring flowers set the seal on this from the very beginning. The week's holiday enabled us to visit Peterborough, Stamford, Oundle, Cambridge and London (by train) and we have had a most enjoyable time.

This was our second visit and we hope to return. The cottage is situated in a very quiet, friendly village just a couple of minutes from the A1. We took advantage of the A1 corridor visiting Burghley House and Gardens and Anglesey Abbey. Oundle and surrounding villages offer pleasant walks and plenty of eating and drinking options. With the river Nene just down the lane we were able to watch boats going through the locks. Nene Park is extensive and there are many options - sailing, riding walking followed by lunch in one of the cafes. We also spent time relaxing in the garden enjoying the lovely weather. The cottage is very comfortable and the owner has considered everything that visitors need to enjoy their holiday. The beds are superb and the quietness of the location ensured a good night's sleep.

We travelled from Canada and loved the authentic cottage feel with all the modern upgrades inside. Very well decorated, clean and lots of thought gone into the cottage to make us feel at home. We also really enjoyed the village and of course the local pub.

Loved the cottage and found the location very handy for seeing around the area. We were lucky in having the best week so far this year for good weather. This meant we were able to take advantage of sitting outside on a few days, when we returned from our days out, in the lovely large, private garden.

This cottage is the best we have ever stayed in. The cottage is lovely throughout and extremely clean with everything you could need in there. We would recommend to anyone as it's a super place to stay. When we arrived there was a bottle of wine, some fruit, milk and tea/coffee in there, which was a lovely touch also.

Beautiful old cottage in lovely village. Very warm and comfortable. Extras such as milk and biscuits etc - much appreciated. Pub and meals only a few minutes walk away. Places of historic interest - Fotheringhay Castle and Peterborough Cathedral well worth a visit. Best cottage we've stayed in!

What a fantastic place! It was even better in person than we expected. The building is a beautiful old cottage that has been extensively and very sensitively updated. The kitchen and bathrooms are completely modern while the living room, dining room and bedrooms are full of period features. The overall effect is excellent, and set off even better by the large garden and very charming village.

We loved everything about this property. It was in a lovely quiet location yet it was perfectly positioned to access major roads and amenities. The character features of the property were absolutely beautiful and thoughtful renovations ensured the highest quality of modern comforts. A huge garden for the children to run around in was the icing on the cake! There is nothing we could fault in this property! A perfect holiday destination.

This is a delightful cottage, beautifully appointed, with everything that one could wish for in a holiday home. It was lovely to find the welcome bottle of wine and the bowl of fruit. We loved the well-thought out access through a utility area so that wet boots, coats etc could be disposed of without encroaching on the rooms themselves. A slightly clearer description of the whereabouts of the smallest bedroom would have relieved us of some anxiety - I had visualised having to go through my son's room to the bathroom. In fact I shared the twin-bedded room with my grand-daughter and my four year old grandson was delighted with his "secret room" which led off ours and not off the main bedroom as I think it said in the description. All in all however, we had a perfect break and are planning on a return visit sometime next year...
