Spacious, warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It was child friendly and was great having the playhouse in the courtyard. We enjoyed our stay very much. Have recommended it to other people already and would definitely stay again.

Absolutely fabulous, highly recommended. A lovely rural setting yet close to all the highlights and amenities, a little gem!

We were a large family group staying in Chester for a wedding, so Quarter Cottage was sufficiently large, convenient and well situated for this purpose, plus a few days relaxing and exploring the area.

The location was very central to where we needed to go over the weekend. The house was great for young families and very child friendly. I would use this cottage again.

Quarter Cottage was perfect for us. The cottage was roomy, modern and airy and whilst it seemed it was in the middle of the countryside, in reality it was actually only a stones throw from many places to visit.

Brilliant cottage! Spacious but cosy! Great location; Manchester, Liverpool and Chester all within an hour, and Cheshire Oaks just round the corner!

Very good location for Chester. Handy for Cheshire Oaks and Chester Zoo which were both well worth a visit. The kids loved Chester Zoo. Accommodation was lovely and warm and easily accommodated 8 of us comfortably.

Used this house as a base for our daughter's wedding in Chester. Quarter Cottage was everything we needed with lots of flexible space. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

Very friendly owners - gave us a good welcome and helped us with their local knowledge on finding supermarkets and negotiating the one way system in Chester. The house was ideal for two families and the directions given were excellent. The power shower was great and there was plenty of space. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

I've been away with the same friends every year for the last ten so have good experience of different properties. Quarter cottage had both good and bad points, There were six of us with two couples so plenty of room for the two couples to share a room and the two single people to have a room to themselves. Good points: The rooms are spacious, the cottage appears relatively small from outside but there are generous bedrooms, a large lounge and a large kitchen/diner. There is nothing worse than a small kitchen/diner where it' difficult to move. In this day and age it also had an excellent w-fi connection. The TV has Sky. BUT Bad points: The crockery/cups/mugs mainly consisted of not enough of the same set, there were only three proper soup bowls, there were only five mugs, there were enough plates. There were six of us and if we had a full meal that meant a lot of washing. There was no dishwasher, this is the first place that I have stayed in that di NOT have a dishwasher. This place has a maximum capacity of nine people, the fact that there is no dishwasher seems a serious oversight, especially as there is a washing machine and tumble dryer. WE had Sky TV, I would have much preferred to have had a dishwasher and Freeview. There was room for a Dishwasher if a shelf was put in the Crockery cupboard and the drawers were used for storage. Finally, the bathroom was large and pleasant but the lock didn't work, there were five of us using the upstairs bathroom primarily but couldn't lock the door when it was occupied. The shower was great but didn't drain fast enough, nearly had it overflow once.

We had a great time, needing a base from which to sightseeing drive around the local area. The place was clean and comfortable. The owner lives on the site and was very friendly and helpful.

Despite the extreme cold of the Easter week 5 adults and a baby were kept warm and cosy in this well equipped rental. In fact on the Sunday we entertained 13 of our family in the cottage and still had plenty of room to spare! Trips to Cheshire Oaks outlet shops, Chester Zoo, Chester ,Liverpool on the Mersey Ferry , local restaurants, Gordales Garden Centre a walk along the Wirral Way were all easily accessed.

We stayed here for a week with three generations. The ground floor bedroom and shower room were ideal for my mother in law. With 7 of us in total another 3 visitors for a day, the house did never feel overcrowded. It was an ideal location for visiting relatives in Neston and exploring the Wirral and Chester and other big cities. I would certainly recommend to others.

There were 6 adults in our group and we found it very comfortable, with everything we needed. The only downside was that the bathroom doors didn't lock and the shower cubicle in the downstairs bathroom was very small and not that easy for my mother to get in and out of. Apart from that we had a great time.

Had lovely week at this cottage with three generations of family visiting new great grandparents in the area. Very impressed with the space available, everything we needed and more - sky and wi-fi were an added bonus. Peaceful location with views of farmland but by a busy road. The road meant easy access to Chester and North Wales Cheshire Oaks and the Blue Planet plus various eating places e.g the nearby garden centre well worth a visit and we enjoyed the Thursday night all you can eat curry night at the Tudor Rose, 10 mins away. We initially had problems finding the entrance, not on Badgers Rake Road as per instructions but off the busy Chester Road travelling towards Chester, if on the Hoylake side turn at the Gordale Garden centre and look for the black and wite sign after the brick wall.

I recently stayed at Quarter Cottage with my parents, sister, husband and 9 week old daughter and can happily report it was brilliant. We are originally from the area and had come down from Scotland to introduce our daughter to the rest of my family. It's enourmously difficult to find a reasonably priced place to stay when you're trying to cater for a newborn + parents, a married couple in their late 50s and a singl person in their late 20s but Quarter Cottage ticked all of the boxes. We were amazed to discover we had Sky TV and Wi-Fi, neither of which we thought would be available, which really helped when having quieter evenings. We visited Manchester, Llandudno, Betws-Y-Coed, Chester, Cheshire Oaks, the Blue Planet and Little Sutton and found the cottage to be in a perfect location. A car is a necessity as you are relatively isolated plus the main Parkgate Road is very busy and without pavements so if you wanted to enoy a walk you would need to drive to a more suitable area first. Will definately return - either with the same group or other family members.
