2 Port View Terrace Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
2 Port View Terrace is a two bedroom former farm worker's cottage that features beamed ceilings and an enclosed garden with patio area and views of open fields to the front of the property. This delightful stone-built mid-terrace holiday home is situated on the edge of the charming village of Landrake, ten miles from the many leisure facilities of Plymouth. Nearby you will find the romantic fishing port of Looe and the gorgeous beaches of Downderry and Seaton, and just a short drive away are the lovely villages of Cawsand and Kingsand and the superb golfing facilities of St Mellion Golf Club.

The great south western location of Landrake offers a great deal for the whole family. If you love the outdoors, there are some lovely walks along the banks of the estuarine waters that run from St German's to the sea, with plentiful wildlife around to spot, and pretty sea and riverside villages are also close by. The picturesque village of Landrake is surrounded by open fields and is the perfect base from which to discover this unspoiled region. Wander along the stunning coastal path of Rame Head, which meanders to the sandy beaches of nearby Downderry and Seaton, then on to the fishing port of Looe. The buzzing, maritime city of Plymouth, the splendid golf at St Mellion and the lovely villages of Kingsand and Cawsand are all close to Landrake, offering a varied and enjoyable holiday at any time of year.

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

This was a very good, clean and comfortable place to stay with plenty of facilities. It is far enough from the centre of the village to be very quiet, yet close enough to walk to the shop and pub. We found it to be a very good base for our travels.

It is an easily accessible cottage in a very interesting part of the country. The village also has a good local shop. Despite the wet, cool weather, the cottage was warm and with enough hot water. The washing machine and dryer was also a great boon, and was one of the reasons I chose this cottage.
Mrs Cooke

Wonderful base for reaching all of Cornwall, also Devon if required, so close to the A38, but you could not hear the traffic from the cottage. Everything was more than adequate for your needs, cannot fault it, we had a fabulous holiday!

The cottage is in a lovely location, everyone at the village shop was helpful and friendly. The cottage was absolutely spotless, it gleamed. The little summerhouse in the garden was small but lovely to catch some afternoon sun. The cottage has a lovely atmosphere and a historical feel too.

The water was also lovely and hot . the living room a cosy room with the fire glow on would definitely recommend this holiday cottage .. thank you to the owners for making us welcome

This cottage has been lovengly renovated without spoiling old world charm. It is warm and cosy if the weather is chilly and has a cute little courtyard that is quite private for sunny days . Beds are clean and comfy and the 2 bathrooms and a spa bath an added bonus. The local pub is great with meal specials most days and a friendly publican. The little village has a shop and post office where you cab get most supplies abd large supermarkets are a short drive of 15 mins away.Very convenient to local villages and you can park outside the cottage. Floweres and wine as a welcome make this cottage spacial.

Without doubt this was one of the best cottages in which we have stayed. Nothing seems to have been spared in making this almost a home from home.
Mr Porter
June 2009
We enjoyed our stay at 2 Port View immensely, everything about the place said Welcome - enjoy your stay! Everything had been thought of eg: hairdryer, iron, milk, and tea bags, (especially welcoming after a long car journey). We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone wishing to explore Cornwall and Devon. Ideally located for both counties: 15 minute drive to Plymouth City Centre. Similar time to Looe and Polperro.
June 2010
I was one of the people affected by the volcano and should have been going to Turkey. I really wanted to get away with my mother and came upon this cottage. What a move! I will be returning to this lovely location. My idea of a country break, it was quiet plenty of walks for my dog and I. Even though there was a large moto cross event on the weekend it did not cause a problem the village stayed peaceful. It was easy to travel to either Devon or Cornwall which we did. My dog enjoyed the beach and sea. My mother and I fell in love with the cottage. Sunday lunch at the Bullers arms was stunningly good value and very tasty, I would reccommend it to other visitors.
July 2013
Well serviced property, our second time of renting. Clean and comfortable in a quiet friendly community.Local shop handy for essentials. Good value for money.
September 2012
We chose to stay in Landrake as this was an area of Cornwall that we did not know. The cottage was easy to find, and was in a pleasant village with a shop/post office and pub. All the facilities mentioned in the brochure and online were available. We choose our cottage carefully to ensure that we have a good holiday. 2 Port View Terrace had a bathroom and a separate shower/toilet. There was good heating and plenty hot water - particularly welcome this summer as we got wet and cold exploring the coast and countryside due to the persistant rain! The bed was comfortable, and the rooms, including the kitchen, were a good size. The washing machine and tumble dryer both worked well. The garden, with many lovely flowers, would have been delightul - if the rain had stopped! We were able to visit the coast, and several country houses (NT and otherwise), as well as Bodmin Moor(and Jamaica Inn). Bodmin, Fowey, Rame Head, Liskeard and many small villages were all easily explored. For those who want a 'big town' experience, Plymouth is close by. We enjoyed the convenient location and comfort of the cottage and are happy to recommend it to other holiday makers.
Mr Reilly
July 2016

November 2010

February 2011
I stayed during a really cold snap and the cottage was comfortable and warm. Would stay again.
