3 St. Cuthbert's Garth description

Holiday home
3 St Cuthbert's Garth is a terraced cottage in the seaside village of Bamburgh. The region boasts miles of unspoilt, golden-sanded beaches and stunning countryside. Situated within this county are two areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the rugged Northumberland Park. Northumberland also hosts the greatest number of castles than anywhere else in Britain and the Island of Lindisfarne is said to be the birthplace of British Christianity. Bamburgh is a charming village made up of stone houses and located close to the sea. It has its own castle which was completely restored in 1900, which houses collections of antique china, porcelain, furniture, paintings, weapons and armour and is open to the public. Many of the area's attractions are easily accessible from Bamburgh, such as the Farne Islands and Dunstanburgh Castle. Bamburgh is also served by a number of shops, in addition to some pubs and restaurants of high reputation.

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

A very well equipped and comfortable cottage. In a great location, just behind the main street in Bamburgh and away from roads. The garden was great for dogs with a specially fenced off area down the bottom. Bamburgh is such a beautiful place, the beach is just stunning, the village has everything you need and it is a great location for exploring the area. The decoration is neat and tidy and extremely tasteful throughout, lovely pictures. The bathroom is immaculate and the beds oh so comfortable.

A lovely cottage which was very quiet, it was a perfect retreat for anyone, especially for those with a dog. It was lovely to be able to sit outside for lunch. A very clean and well equipped cottage, hope to book again for next year.

The best holiday accommodation we have ever had. Everything is excellent - the location, house and equipment. It was dog friendly with an excellent lawn area. Can't praise it enough - well done to the owner!

A home from home with everything you needed and more. Fantastic for the dogs as there were enclosed gardens back and front. In easy walking distance to fabulous beaches, you can find all you need in the small local shops and there are plenty of places to eat out. The cottage is fabulously appointed, the beds are so comfy and everything is of a high standard.

The central location of this property was perfect for us as it enabled us to access all Northumberland. The facilities were EXCELLENT, there was nothing that was not already thought of, our 10 year old thought the whole experience was brilliant.

The property has a home from home feel and contained everything you would need. It was spotlessly clean and well maintained with big, comfortable beds. Caretaker for the property lives next door and is very helpful and friendly. We would certainly stay again in the future.

The whole experience was great - the cottage was perfect, well positioned for the village of Bamburgh and the beach, and also for sightseeing all of the other coastal villages in Northumberland. The cottage was spotless and the garden was perfect to sit in after a long walk.

We had a wonderful stay at the house. It was warm and clean and suited our requirements perfectly. The house was spotlessly clean and the housekeeper was friendly and ensured we were satisfied with everything. The location of the house is perfect for visiting Bamburgh and the Northumberland coast. It is within easy walking distance to the fabulous beach and castle.

Just returned from a weeks stay at this lovely Bamburgh cottage. Have to say this one of the best cottages for location amenities and price we have stayed in. The cottage is dog friendly with enclosed gardens to both the back and the front of the cottage. Kitchen, dining room and living room downstairs with a lovely bathroom and two large bedrooms. We had everything we needed and more, even had dog bowls, covers etc for the dog. The cottage is lovely and quiet with beds that are so comfy, had such a great sleep, and everything was spotless clean. It is situated right in the heart of Bamburgh and literally 5 minutes from the beach and castle. Such a great find and we will return and would recommend especially with a dog.

The cottage was by far the best equipped we have ever had and the location was perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside. Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to visit the area.
April 2015
Having not visited this area before we were a little unsure of what to expect; pleasantly surprised by the comforts offered by this delightful little cottage we were further delighted with all that Bamburgh and the surrounding area has to offer. There is nothing missing in this home, fabulously equipped kitchen, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine everything you need. Lovely Denby crockery and Wedgewood cutlery making this feel more like a well loved home than a holiday let. Lovely big comfy beds, soft towels, everything you could need. Our two dogs fitted in very quickly, both the front and back gardens being dog friendly, bowls etc supplied for them too! You really don't need to travel far with lovely local shops selling everything you might need. The lamb chops and Sirloin from Roberts the butchers being the best we've tasted in a long time, the veg from the corner stores being fresh and tasty. Lovely walks from the doorstep, Seahouses being only 3 miles along the beach and Budle Bay a fabulous walk in the other direction. Of course the castle is a must as is a trip to Holy Island, watch out for the tides, check before you go. Sunsets just amazing. Mobile signal and Wifi we're fine for us. All in all a little gem of a place, we will definitely be back. The weather was great too which of course, always help. The lady next door takes obvious great care of the property and is on hand if you need any guidance. A gardener keeps the gardens looking lovely.

This cottage is a little gem, I stayed here with my wife and pet cocker spaniel for a mid week break. The cottage is slittle gempotlessly clean, 2 double bedrooms with excellent beds. The front and rear gardens are both enclosed so it's ideal for letting dogs loose, the mobile phone signal is not brilliant so the owners have kept the telephone connected and there is a honesty box to leave money if you make any calls, also there is a internet connection so ideal if you have a laptop or iPad. In the village ther are various tea rooms, butchers, small shops and a few pubs. The Victoria is 2 mins walk from cottage and is dog friendly, dogs welcomed in bar area.the beach is about 8 mins walk away which is a beautiful beach and ideal for walking the dog. This cottage is a ideal base as sea houses, holy island, Berwick and Alnwick are just a short drive awayl
