Liked the location to town - it was a perfect 5-10min walk. Loved the period cottage and particularly liked the interior and furnishings which were simple and classy. Thought the owner was incredibly helpful but also discreet. The log burner was a treat and it was spotlessly clean.

The cottage was very warm cosy and the beds very comfortable. Just a 5 minute walk to very nice shops and pubs in Lincoln. The owner was very nice.

The house was beautiful in every way - the view from the window, the location, and decorated above and beyond the necessary standards. Obviously a lot of care has gone into it. The owner was a superb host, not intrusive and happy to leave us to figure things out.

It was so close to Lincoln City Centre we didn't have to bother with the car to see the sights and we could pop back to have lunch etc. It was so clean and comfortable with everything we needed, including milk, bread and lovely home-made biscuits and a fire in the stove on arrival. Perfect for a winter break.

Lovely and cosy place. I would 100% recommend to anyone. It was just a very short walk from the town centre and an incredible view from the living room, and bedroom window of the wind mill. There was great communication from the owner and she was very helpful. I want to go back again soon!

Really enjoyed staying in this lovely holiday home which was very well equipped and included bath robes! (Only negative comment is the lack of WiFi.) The welcome pack included home made cookies, eggs from the owner's chooks, bread, milk and bacon. The wee touches in the decor, including fresh flowers added to the welcoming experience. Would definitely like to stay again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage.

The property was warm and cosy, and the fire lit just before we arrived was very welcoming on a wet and windy day. The position of the cottage was in easy walking distance of the shops and landmarks, and so there was no need to use the car all weekend.

We stayed at Mill Rd during Whit half term. Mrs Watson was very helpful and communicative re: key collection arrangements, which helped us plan our travel arrangements. On arrival, the house was clean, comfortable and we were well equipped with towels, tea towels etc. for our week there. The welcome pack was appreciated too. The second bedroom with pull out bed was larger than I'd anticipated, so the kids were happy. They had a lovely view of the windmill from their window. The house is very close to the city centre, approx 10 minutes stroll to the castle and 5 minutes from the shops at the top of the town. There is a Co-op a couple of minutes walk away. We organised a Sainsburys delivery for the morning after our arrival.

Enjoyed a comfortable, cosy break here allowing us to explore Lincoln. Ideally situated in upper Lincoln, easy walk from Cathedral , shops & cafes. Helpful personal welcome to cottage with homemade cookies. Great views of sunset behind windmill. Plenty room for 2 adults & 2 teenagers - they missed wifi but I didn't! Would be good for either a week or shorter break. Spotless & well presented, even fresh flowers.

40 Mill Road is ideally situated, quaint and perfect for anyone visiting Lincoln. The local shops are around the corner with the cathedral quarter a ten minute walk away. Absolutely lovely to stay in and has everything that could be needed. Ellis Windmill directly opposite the house. The owner could not have been more accommodating - even leaving us homemade cookies to get settled it! All contact details for owner readily available as well as a lovely welcome pack with a bit of local history. House lovely and clean with many personal touches throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and had already booked again before we left!

We had a great stay at the property and were welcomed on arrival by Clare who gave us lots of helpful information. The home made cookies and eggs from the chooks were very much appreciated. The bed was very comfortable and the property is spacious for two people. It was a short walk to the Cathedral quarter. Lincoln is a great place to visit for a city break.

One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in with respect to comfort, character and location. In simple terms it is a terraced cottage, but with a very interesting heritage. Part of a grade 2 listed building but provided with every comfort you will need and most importantly an owner who is genuinely concerned for your holiday. We would well recommend this cottage to anyone exploring Lincoln and its history. You can forget your car once you have parked up, all is within walking distance.
