The cottage is in a very quiet area and was very comfortable. Hayfield is a great find as a location. It is off the beaten track and has access to some lovely walks and rides. The locals are very friendly. Travel into Manchester was also easy.

The cottage was more than home away from home - it was much nicer than home! I could have lived there happily. The village of Hayfield is so picturesque and everyone we met was really friendly.

The cottage was fabulous and the owner's had made every effort to make it feel festive by putting up Christmas decorations and leaving a basket of chocolates. As we used to live in Hayfield it was lovely to be visiting the area and family over Christmas. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, well cared for and very comfortable. Thank you!

This is a lovely cottage in a very interesting village with excellent facilities, close to hills and lots going on! Very well presented both internally and externally, although parking can be tricky. Overally had a great stay and would happily stay there again

Stayed here for a week in early March and wasn't disappointed. Cottage was very clean and comfortable with everything you could need to make your stay enjoyable. Hayfield it's is a beautiful village with excellent pubs/hotels for drinks and food and the local people are extremely friendly and kind. The surrounding scenery is breathtakingly beautiful and walks from the door are plenty. You don't really need to use your car if you visit here

What a find! This little cottage has everything for a very comfortable stay in the Peaks. Clean, very well equipped and dog friendly. The wood burner made it very cosy although it also has central heating. Lovely kitchen with everything you need down to the dog bowl! Linen provided and free wifi, local maps. Not ideal if you have mobility problems as access is on a very steep hill. The walks are all on your doorstep and the scenery is breathtaking. We were very lucky to have lovely weather for February which just made the walks and scenery even better. The back garden isn't really 'dog proof' for smaller breeds but it wasn't a problem. The village is lovely with dog friendly pubs and local stores that are more than sufficient, although larger supermarkets are only a short drive away. I would recommend walks along the Pennine way, Kinder and if you don't mind a drive, visit hope wood along snakes pass. A car really isn't necessary for a week as there are plenty of walks locally. There is a small cost for logs which are provided for purchase at the cottage, but we took our own for the week. We also took a slow cooker which was a bonus as there isn't one there, but its great coming back to a prepared meal. however, the kitchen is very well equipped, and the washing machine is a much needed bonus after very muddy walks! This is 5 star in every way, can't fault it at all, highly recommended.

We went away for New Years, and being a group of 20-somethings, it was such a lovely change to what we would usually do. The walks were great, and the local pubs were friendly. I will definitely be using Sykes again!
