We had a very enjoyable stay at the cottage. The location is great as it's quiet with a great view but very quick to get into town.

This property is fantastic. A short walk from local amenities but set back on a hill so it is remote and secluded. You wake up hearing bird song and sit on the deck of an evening listening to the gentle sound of the stream flowing under the access bridge. It exceeded our expectations.

We had a brilliant week with fantastic weather. Acorn Lodge is very close to the centre of Fort William but the position of it feels like you are in middle of the woods. It has amazing views from the balcony and is great for wildlife watching. We saw a red deer, pine marten and several species of birds. Definitely hope to stay there again.

The Lodge itself was excellent and well placed for the town, with great views of the Loch.

The cottage was fantastic with great views.

The whole scenery of the house was magnificent. It felt like being in the middle of nature, but the centre of the town is only 10 minutes away by foot. In the house, you can feel that the owner made it and decorated it with love.

A fabulous holiday - loved the peace and relaxation after a busy Christmas. This is a great lodge which was exactly what I wanted: a winter lodge in the hills but with a five star warm feeling, for my young children. We loved the sauna and the outdoor decking too!

The Lodge was outstanding, it felt like you were in the middle of nowhere yet it was a 10 minute walk to all amenities. We'll definitely return!

We loved the proximity of being close to restaurants/bars so that we could walk in the evening. And so much wildlife was seen by us except for the pine martins but they did enjoy our peanut butter sandwiches. This is a lovely, homely cottage to stay in with all amenities.

Eco-built characterful wooden cabin with luxury features. Lovely to be able to walk into town. Good location for touring the beautiful highlands. We even got up close to the local pine-martens!

Loved the beautifully built lodge with the amazing woodwork! Fantastic location for visiting local tourist attractions. The stunning setting meant we were able to see lots of wildlife right at our lodge. We were so happy to see the deer in front of our lodge but most especially, feeding the pine martens each evening was amazing. Have been able to get lots of fantastic photos and came home with wonderful memories.

The Bridge across to the lodge was fantastic. All the special wooden features and furniture were excellent. It was only a 5 minute walk into town. It was the first time I have experienced under floor heating which made the lodge nice and cosy. We will be coming back.

Situated in the ideal place for visiting the Mountains and Lochs of the Western Highlands. We visited the Western Highlands Museum in Fort William, quite interesting to read and watch the video about the formation of the Commandos at Spean Bridge. We drove to Fort Augustus and walked along the banks of Loch Ness, a nice relaxing holiday in a rather unusual but an excellent cottage.

The perfect location to explore the Highlands. A beautifully built property which is testament to the owner. We really could not fault this property at all.

October 2013
Great location, easy access to the hills around Fort William and easy drive to places like Glencoe, and the train ride over the Harry Potter viaduct. The property is really good, and the the sauna warms you through after a day's walking, washing machine came in very handy. We found it very comfortable and novel, would really recommend this place. Plenty of shops, pubs restaurants in easy walking distance, distillery just up the road, museum in fort william worth a visit. We totally enjoyed our week.

We loved that although the Lodge was in town, it felt very secluded. The views were lovely. The hand-made feel of the Lodge is also a massive plus, as was the balcony. Having two toilets was very practical. The whole place felt really cosy and welcoming. There was lots of hot water, and it was really warm. A gorgeous place with some lovely touches.

A lovely lodge local to everything you need. The lodge had everything we needed as a couple, it was rainy outside but lovely and cosy inside. We didn't feel the need to go out. What a nice touch to arrive to some home made short bread, eggs and a pint of milk. Something you don't expect! The sauna is a very nice touch and makes the place stand out from other properties we looked at. Would definitely go back!!

Fantastic location next to a tumbling woodland stream, five minutes walk from the centre of Fort William. Designed and built to very high standards. Private and quite. Tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We were sorry to leave.

Spent the February school holiday here. This lodge certainly has the 'wow factor'. I was surprised to find that we had our very own natural waterfall which I had no previous knowledge of but the sound of the rushing water was very therapeutic indeed. Upon arrival we were greated by a gift of traditional Scottish shortbread and the essentials for making a hot drink which I thought was a very thoughtful gesture. The lodge is extremely well equipped and well kempt. They also provide you with a very comprehensive 'where to go' and 'what to do' file which came in very handy as a lot of places we had planned to visit were shut until March which was a little disappointing but unavoidable due to the season. The lodge itself is in an ideal location, within walking distance to the town but set back far enough to also enjoy the peace and quiet. It's also set high enough on a hill to give you the most breathtaking views of Fort William and the porch allows you to enjoy the view whatever the weather. They really have thought if everything at Acorn Lodge. Thank you for the great holiday!

We booked a week here for our Honeymoon and I have to say that Acorn Lodge did not disappoint. The lodge is very well furnished and offers a little luxury for anyone staying, the little touches go along way here. Views over Fort William and the Loch are amazing and even on a cold March evening there was nothing better than sitting out with a glass of wine. We were lucky enough to see the Pine martin one evening but found evidence of his other visits with missing peanut butter sandwiches. Only slight improvement we would suggest would be possibly adding a microwave in the future.

We spent a really wonderful week at Acorn Lodge. The Lodge is in a great location very close to the centre of Fort William but it feels like you are out in the woods and the views from the balcony over Loch Linnhe are just amazing. We knew the Lodge was going to be something special as soon as we walked over to the bridge to get to it. The Lodge looks beautiful from the outside and is just as nice inside. The open plan living area is really comfortable and the two bedrooms with their bespoke wood made beds were also really nice. Just to really complete a wonderful holiday we were sitting out on the balcony on our last night at the lodge and two pine-martins appeared on the hill side next to the lodge looking for food. We would definitely recommend acorn lodge and will be going back there ourselves.
