Allan Ramsay Cottage description

Conveniently situated just 20 minutes from Edinburgh, in the tiny village of Carlops on the edge of the Pentland Hills and handily next door to one of Scotland’s oldest coaching inns. Comfortably and cosily furnished, this apartment is a great base for walkers with challenging and less arduous routes in the nearby Pentlands or the Peeblesshire Hills. There is very easy access into Edinburgh, a 30-minute drive or 1 hour by bus for a hassle free day, allowing you to enjoy a vibrant, busy city environment safe in the knowledge that by night you can come back to your cottage retreat. Visit Rosslyn Chapel, 10 miles, a beautiful heritage attraction, described as a medieval treasure in stone. West Linton, 4 miles, has a pub, restaurant and local shopping, while Peebles, 17 miles, has several good eating places, interesting shops and galleries. Glentress, the mountain biking mecca, is just 6 miles further on.
