We stayed at Anne's Cottage in at the end of March 2016 and it was the first time we had rented a cottage. I we will be doing it again. However, any other cottage is going to have a lot to live up to. The way Anne's Cottage has been decorated and furnished is so lovely. The well equipped kitchen is great. We have all thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the cottage, reading and taking in the fabulous views.
The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable and our teenage daughter said that the sofa bed in the lounge was comfortable too. The log burner is perfect for those colder nights and really warms up the place.
This is a great place to use to visit the area. We've wandered through Monmouth, had a trip to Cardiff, visited Abergavenny and Caerphilly, as well as done some walks from the cottage. The cottage has a number of books/leaflets which shown different walking routes as well as other local places to visit. We had a meal at the Inn at Penault which was very nice.
One thing to note is that phone signal is poor. This wasn't a problem for us as it was nice to not be on the phones constantly, although if affected our teenage daughter.
We have already recommended this cottage to family and friends and wouldn't hesitate in coming back if we were to visit this area again.
