Apartment 1 Sneaton Hall Coastal Cottage description

Holiday home
Just three miles from the town of Whitby and set in an elevated position, this apartment has not only been finished to a very high standard but also boasts beautiful countryside views towards Whitby Abbey and the sea. High ceilings, dado rails, sash windows, and glass chandeliers still remain whilst outside a large, communal garden provides a great space in which to enjoy summer ball games or an evening drink. Local amenities and various activities are available in the near vicinity, making this an excellent holiday base for a family or a group of friends.

Area
Situated in an elevated position, just three miles from Whitby, and twenty-one miles from Scarborough, the small rural village of Sneaton is a well-situated holiday location. The village, composed of pretty stone cottages that line the main street, is also home to an excellent pub offering exceptional local produce in a traditional setting with a welcoming open fire and beamed ceilings. The nearby Beacon Farm produces delicious, homemade ice cream and has a tea-room and farm shop open to visitors. Numerous public footpaths can be found around the village of Sneaton, making it a perfect location for walkers. The Monks Trod - an ancient stone path that monks followed to worship at Whitby Abbey – is certainly worth investigating. From nearby Ruswarp visitors can go boating on the River Esk or make use of the small golf course.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

I was very impressed with No.1 Sneaton Hall. The living room/kitchen is very impressive with a high ceiling, deep windows on two sides, wood panelling and feature fireplace. The communal garden is lovely with views to Whitby and the sea beyond on a clear day. Sneaton itself is well located for a walking holiday on the North East coast.

The apartment is in a great raised setting with lovey views from the garden over to Whitby and the coast and a genuine sea view. The apartment layout works well, with a large open plan arrangement and a high ceiling giving a feeling of being in a big airy space. Everything we needed was there and all was laid out beautifully. It's perfect for access to the coast and the moors. The shared garden is beautifully kept and perfect for those long summer evenings.

Loved the big open plan living area and the lobby for muddy boots and coats. Lovely comfortable beds - and the hot water bottles were a particularly nice touch. The property is really peaceful but very accessible for Whitby and all the surrounding attractions. We had a great time.

We all loved Sneaton Hall number 1. The cottage is ideally situated, between the Moors, Whitby and with Robin Hood's bay not too far from it. It helped us live an experience we've been seeking for such a long time : bringing back the notion of time to a Human scale, far from the noisy and crowded kind of life we can hardly stand anymore. Our one-week stay at number 1 has been perceived as a relief by each member of our family. A place one is always happy to find and would never want to leave !

The apartment was very light and airy and very obviously freshly refurbished, making it feel clean and very pleasant to live in for a week. Although it has been modernised, the character of the original building has been retained. It was quiet and peaceful.

The apartment was light, airy and very tastefully furnished. It provided good space for dining and relaxing even though all these facilities were situated in one room.

We chose this place because, having a toddler in tow, we wanted somewhere without stairs and with some outdoor space and this had it all and more! It's a lovely characterful building yet done up inside in a modern, tasteful way. The large, communal garden overlooks the sea and Whitby Abbey and is beautifully maintained. The flat itself was a great size and really clean and well kept. The living space and bedrooms were a good size. The location is great too, in the lovely village of Sneaton and only about a 10 min drive to Whitby centre. The ice cream farm and teashop is a pleasant stroll down the road and the pub looked nice too although we didn't try it. For stocking up, there is a Sainsburys and a Lidl about a 10 min drive away. This is one of the best holiday rentals we have stayed in and our little girl loved it so much she called it our 'new home'! Would definitely recommend.

Arriving after dark on a chilly January evening, we entered the apartment and were taken aback by the beautiful open plan living space, which was toasty warm and immaculately furnished. A bottle of champagne had been left on the dining table, which we thought was a lovely and very generous touch. The whole apartment was spotlessly clean and furnished to a high standard. Tasteful, modern decor sets off the period features in the main open plan living area. The bedrooms and bathroom are modern and tastefully decorated in neutral colours. We're a family of four and found the apartment to be just the right size for us. The large open plan living space is ideal as we could all be in the same area, chatting and spending time with each other - even when one if us was cooking / washing up etc. The apartment is very well equipped with everything one may need for a self catering holiday. The location is good being 10 mins from Whitby and all its amenities. plus not far from Robin Hood's Bay, Staithes, Sandsend etc. We wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend to friends & family. A little gem :-)

Wow is the word you say when you first walk into the sitting room, very large and well appointed living/kitchen. two bedrooms, one a little small but the other a little bigger both well furnished and a lovely bathroom with shower.all very clean and all fixtures and fittings that you need . kitchen well appointed, but we ate out on the three nights we stayed there in sept because we wanted to sightsee as much of whitby and scarborough as we could. "We were two related couples "and there was plenty of room for all of us, The well kept garden afforded a wonderful view of whitby abbey. had a wonderful relaxing break. thank you Ken Harrison

The apartment was clean and comfortable and was decorated to a high standard. The features of the old building had been retained but the kitchen and bathroom were bright, modern and functional. The location was ideal for getting in an out of Whitby and enjoying the surrounding countryside. It suited us perfectly as we had family staying in a nearby caravan site. The village shop was convenient with a little cafe tucked behind. There was nothing we didn't like and we loved the age and style of the propery with the accompanying views and access to local visitor attractions.
