Ashwood Manor has been renovated and offers comfortable, well furnished rooms, ideal for large parties. There is a spacious sitting room with lovely views over the lake and countryside, separate dining room, and attractive kitchen leading to a conservatory, as well as five bedrooms, one with a king-size four-poster. Ashwood Wing offers smaller but equally comfortable holiday accommodation for a group with fewer people. Guests at both properties have their own enclosed garden and access to the owners’ 7 acres of paddocks; the lake is close to the house but is fenced for safety. Fly-fishing and coarse fishing is available all year round at Narborough trout and coarse lakes ½-mile away. Lake at house available for fun fishing.
The local area offers wonderful woodland/river walks, and the superb gardens and park at Sandringham can be visited when the Royal Family is away. Good places to visit include Castle Rising and Castle Acre. The coast is only 15 miles and is a haven for bird-watchers, with the nearest RSPB reserve at Snettisham, which also has a beautiful church and Park Farm. The long sweep of sandy beach runs from here to Hunstanton and beyond, from where the Norfolk coast path begins. Medieval Kings Lynn, with its handsome waterfront, shops, inns and restaurants is just 8 miles. Swaffham market town, 6 miles. Shop ¾ mile.Spacious living room with wood-burning stove. Ashwood Wing is a beautiful family home which adjoins the owners home and also Ashwood Manor (ref CLU) which can accommodate a further ten guests, making it an ideal location from which to host family gatherings or a group of friends holidaying together.
Elegantly furnished the wing offers a spacious sitting room with cosy wood-burning stove, a lovely kitchen/dining room giving the opportunity for everyone to enjoy a meal together. There are two bedrooms, both with sloping ceilings, and the double with lovely en-suite bathroom. The whole party will love splashing around in the shared indoor heated swimming pool, relaxing in the hot tub and sauna, or a game of table tennis, pool or darts. There’s even an adventure playground to keep the children out of mischief. You will have your own enclosed garden but also access to the extensive grounds with gardens and a lake (fenced) for ‘fun’ fishing. For the more serious angler, fly-fishing and coarse fishing is available half a mile away at Narborough trout and coarse lakes.
If you can tear yourself away from all that is on offer here, there are picturesque woodland or river walks in the local area, or the Sandringham Estate is just 10 miles away, open to the public when the Royal Family aren’t in residence. The coast can be reached in 15 miles. Long sandy beaches sweep to Hunstanton and beyond to the Norfolk coastal path. The medieval town of Kings Lynn, 8 miles, offers a range of shops, inns, restaurants and a handsome waterfront. The market town of Swaffham is 6 miles. Shop ¾ mile.
