Peak Forest is an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful hills and dales of the Peak District. Barn Cottage was comfortable and cosy and had everything we needed. Our little dog loved the garden and the field and the numerous bridleways and footpaths made for some excellent walking. We particularly liked The Monsal Trail.

August 2014
The owners were lovely, they welcomed us on a particularly wet morning arrival and showed me around the lovely cottage. A spotlessly clean, full of charm and character cottage in a beautiful location! The garden to the side of the cottage was enclosed which enabled our mad lurcher to have a safe run round and the field at the back, which even though we'd had torrential rain that morning, wasn't particularly muddy. We have nothing but high praise for this beautiful cottage and Tideswell Dale, Millers Dale, which is only a few minutes drive away for some beautiful woodland walks! Weather was mixed but didn't stop us or our dog from having a amazing holiday!

We had 2 dogs with us, so the enclosed garden was great and also the field at the back of the cottage was a marvellous plus. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to family or friends.

October 2015
This is a very comfortable cottage situated near Peak Forest and within easy reach of most places of interest and also for great walks. The Cottage is very clean and the owners who live on site are very pleasant and helpful and although the owners are there if you need them they remain distant allowing you to totally relax. For us all was fine but if you are over 5' 10" you may find the shower a bit of a problem as the ceilings in the shower room are low. Other than that the Cottage is very homely and has everything to make your stay pleasant and relaxed. We had a very pleasant week and walked the legs off of our Shi-tzu but she enjoyed it and slept very soundly each night. This was our first holiday in the Peaks and not our last. The Cottage made our stay very comfortable and pleasant and we will return.

September 2014
Stayed at this lovely cottage from sunday 10th Aug - sat 16th Aug 2014 and had a lovely relaxing holiday! The cottage itself was spotless and well furnished wirh everything you'd need, except maybe a iron but then thats what travel irons are sold for! ;) The garden to the side of cottage was great for our lexi to race round in as it was fully enclosed and the field of sheep at the back of cottage and the surrounding views were beautiful...may be an idea to wear walking boots or wellies if walking in field!.... well sheep have to go to the loo too!! Overall a fantastic weeks stay and so will be returning in the very near future!
January 2014
Very good service on the whole a little difficult to find, a more comprehensive and organised welcome pack would have added even more to the experience. The cottage was perfect for our needs just the right size and layout with everything needed for two. The location was perfect for what we wanted open access to footpaths without having to drive. The area has a great deal to offer to see and explore particularly if you are into walking.
October 2013
The owners were very friendly, the 'cottage' more a ground floor flat was very comfortable and equipment a bit sparse but fine for us as we only had breakfast there. It was well placed for all walks which is what we went for central to everything. The best bit was that.the whole area was so dog friendly we could take our dog nearly everywhere, even tea rooms.

barn Cottage is a spotlessly clean, very well appointed cottage. Superb location for exploring the Peak District. John and Jane are very friendly and helpful, even Luathe, my dog felt welcome. I would reccomend this cottage to anyone.
July 2013
There was everything we needed, and a lovely welcome with tea, coffee, milk and even home made cakes. Very friendly couple and we could have asked them for anything we needed. Beautiful view from the back of the house. We could go for walks too and could even have walked to the garden centre and shop had we been so inclined. We loved Slimbridge and the Bird of Prey Centre. You would really need an O/S map to find the later.
