A warm welcome, and introductions from Jane, awaited us at the gate entrance. Lovely cottage, warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. A few strides around the lodge about 10 yards, was an enclosed garden, ideal for our Spaniel. Parking was a further 20 yards, again enclosed, and not a problem. It's an ideal place to explore the Peak District. We went to Bakewell, plenty of shops, pubs café's etc, quite a bustling town. There's plenty other villages around the area, inc, Tideswell, which we went to for a meal. I can recommend the Horse and jockey pub. There's a pub about 15 mins walk from the cottage, but it's hit and miss when open. And the walk is difficult, considering there's no path, and a very busy road, right next to the long grassy roadside, which is the only way to get there. I would recommend travelling by car to other villages. But overall, not a bad place for the price.
