Bay View Beach Cottage description

Holiday home
A first floor apartment in a quiet setting, with some views over Beadnell's famous sweeping bay, in an exceptional location just 100 yards from the huge sandy beach. Bay View has been decorated, furnished and equipped to offer cosy, quality family accommodation. There are two bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen/diner, a comfy sitting room, and the property enjoys off road parking. Relax with breakfast on the balcony, or take the children for an evening paddle.

Established in Saxon times, Beadnell is a charming harbour village set on a wonderful stretch of the Northumberland Coast, an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, popular with birdwatchers. Beadnell Bay itself has a Blue Flag award and is one of the prettiest beaches in the area. The town of Seahouses is close to the beach and with two welcoming pubs and shops and restaurants close by it is, unsurprisingly popular with locals and holidaymakers alike. The Farne Islands are a short boat trip away, as are both Bamburgh and Alnwick Castles. The former is a huge bird sanctuary, created by St Cuthbert, who along with St Aidan, was one of the first monks to bring Christianity to Britain. That heritage is also upheld at the holy island of Lindisfarne, which can be reached via the causeway at Beal (depending on the tides).

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

This is a great cottage, the best equipped we have ever been to. A sandy beach is 100 yards in one direction and a rocky beach 100 yards in the other directions. It is a fantastic location particularly for anyone with kids of 'rock pooling' age. We hope to go back again.

December 2004
The fabulous walks along the beaches, the good food from the New Beadnell Towers (?) Hotel. My husband is intolerant to gluten and the hotel chef was very helpful and understood the difficulty completely, which we appreciated very much as not all chefs are aware of the hidden dangers.
Mr Phair

Mr Cairney
December 2004
It felt like being in a home rather than a holiday apartment. The closeness to the beach was great. The surrounding area was very beautiful (Lindisfarne, Farne islands, Bamburgh, Beadnell Bay). Northumberland will definitely get a revisit from us at some point in the future!
Mr Buxton
December 2004
Excellent location - close to the beach. Good food at the Beadnell Arms Hotel. The weather was good (surprisingly!)
August 2013
First floor apartment with sea views from the balcony. Very close to the beach and a short walk to the small harbour of Beadnell with its famous lime kilns. There is a small grocery store and fish and chip shop a 15 min walk away (limited opening hours), but quite adequate. Seahouses is a short drive with Bambrough a little further. The apartment was well equipped, spacious and comfortable. There is a pub and hotel which serves food in the village centre. Directions for collecting the key could have been clearer, but that's my only complaint. I'd certainly stay there again.
October 2011
Lovely flat in a great location. The flat was comfotable and had everything we needed. The beach was very close by. Beadnell is small but had a shop, a pub, restaurant and a fish and chip shop. There are plenty of places to visit nearby especially if you like castles. The only thing that could have made it better was the weather.

We have taken breaks in Northumberland for many years and in the Beadnell area or village for the last 7. This was THE ideally located place that we have stayed at. Honestly 2 to 3 minutes from one of the best beaches in the UK. This property is very, very comfortable and well presented. One very short flight, with a view of the beach from the living room and balcony. All very peaceful. We rarely go anywhere twice but will certainly go back there if available next year. The walk along the beach, via Low Newton to Craster is about a 2 and half journey if fit and well worth it....there are buses back from Craster if needed! Honestly cannot fault it, as for weather....well, it is the what if it rains, it is stunning countryside!

August 2011

November 2010
The apartment was clean, comfortable, well equipped, had a new bathroom recently. Handy for exploring the Northumerland coast and towns. Would stay here again.
Judy Wilkes
September 2010
The apartment was all you could wish for. Very clean, comfortable and modern. It was only about 50 yards from a lovely beach. Good food in the local pub in the village which was a short walk across the field and a bit longer walk on the way back via the road. Very central for all sites along the coast, Seahouses, Bamburgh Castle, Farne Islands, Alnwick Castle and Gardens and Berwick-on-Tweed. Did all these attractions but not much driving. Would recommend this to anyone.
December 2009

Lots of information leafets. Short distance from beach. Ideal for a family. So many castles to visit. Will definitley return for another holiday.
