The friendliness of the owners made us feel welcome and relaxed. We felt that we had the run of the place and if we needed anything we knew we could ask. The hot tub was great too, watching the stars on a windy evening.

The owners were very friendly and there if needed, but never intrusive. The cottage is conveniently located for York, the countryside and the coast, and there are numerous attractions in the area. The extras like Sky TV and the hot tub provided at the cottage made our stay perfect and our little one loved the friendly animals on site.

We had a lovely stay at Beckhill cottage, which was cosy and a real home from home. Our daughter particularly liked the horses which were stabled just next to the cottage. We all loved the hot tub.

Very nice accommodation, very private and quiet, as out in the country and set back off the road. Family are very friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. Nice to have the added luxury of the hot tub. Made a very good base for travelling, and exploring the local area. York City only 20 minutes drive away.

The property was clean and in very good condition. The garden area was ideal for a party of 5 adults. The owners were friendly and helpful. The thing we particularly enjoyed about this property were the owners pet dogs and cats! My sons had so much fun playing with the 2 dogs and the cats were so friendly and eager to be stroked by all.

The cottage is much smaller than it appears on the provided photos and to our disappointment was situated right between the main house and the stables. There is no privacy. You are overlooked from every angle. People even walk past the lounge window which was disconcerting. When my children were in the hot tub with me, people were pulling up in cars and looking at them. The garden is a mess of weeds and the family dog appears to prefer to do its 'business' in the cottage garden which I refused to pick up! There is a vast paddock which you are not allowed in. Onto the hot-tub - the owner insisted that the cover be propped up which dangerously kept falling on our heads.Be aware that you are only allowed to use it at certain times! Inside the cottage- nice upstairs. Be careful as the wooden stairs are lethal when wet. Bathroom was lovely but only one toilet was a problem for a family of five. Lounge area was fine. We had a nice stay in a beautiful area but it was too overlooked and not private for us.

The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed for our mature girly weekend stay. The owners were very helpful and advised us on where to eat in the local village. Since the photo's have been published the hot tub has been moved between the patio door and garden furniture with a screen blocking views from the main house. On arrival we were greeted by 2 small dogs who were wery friendly and 2 cats that we were asked not to let into the cottage as they live outdoors. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs 1 twin (full size single beds) and one double with another double downstairs. Another bathroom or toilet would have been useful but for the few days we were their we coped. A very relaxing weekend we went to Scarborough on the Saturday just 1 hrs drive away and a car boot and garden centre on Sunday just 20 mins away. Would definitely go back.

I always think that the best test comes when things go wrong and this was no exception- one of our daughters was ill and we needed fresh bedding, washing powder and use of a tumble dryer, all of which were readily supplied with good cheer by the owners who live next door. Then the drains blocked up but these were all sorted out the same morning - a bank holiday. The cottage is well equipped, in a beautiful setting near the village of Crayke with the excellent Durham Ox pub. We felt very well looked after and it is a great base for visiting York and surrounding areas. As someone else has said, an extra loo would be handy for a family of five but this is very good value for money. The hot tub is great but we haven't used it that much as the weather has been crazy - lightning and hail welcoming in the first day of Spring.

Overall we were really pleased by the standard of the cottage and the hospitality we received. Situated in a beautiful area, perfectly located for visiting York and the surrounding area, and with lovely welcoming hosts. What more could you ask for? A hot tub? Well that was the cherry on the cake! (and the main reason we chose this cottage) The hot tub was fab and a surprisingly good star gazing spot! Would definitely come back for another girls weekend, family or couples break. The only downside was the weak wifi signal, but to be honest, after having such a great weekend without our phones in our hands the whole time I think it was a bonus!

Well furniture was very poor an rundown scratched from cats being let in but overall disappointed with the cottage and the overall experience we were accused of damaging the hot tub which was already damaged when we arrived the handle was broken also there were a number of items damaged when we arrived a lamp an a clothes airer were broke very poor cottage for the price and in need of modernisation the owner is wanting compensation from the so called damage i am a honest person who paid for damage my stepdaughter did by accident to the carpet so i am so annoyed with the owner seeking compensation as he must have insurence also no slip mat in the shower causing my daughter to slip an bang her head this needs to be addressed and also there is no step to get into the hot tub will never be returning to this cottage again.

We stayed as three couples in the cottage for a wedding in nearby Sheriff Hutton. The property was exactly as advertised, in a pretty part of the world and exactly what we needed for a weekend away - we wished we could have stayed for the week but unfortunately work called for us all on the Monday morning! The owners were lovely and welcoming, making everything incredibly easy for us - including as going as far in helping us get to the wedding and back again! Also recommended a fantastic pub for a lovely relaxed Sunday lunch. Absolutely wonderful stay and we would all totally go back - and will definitely try and book again if we find ourselves back in the area.

Agree with the previous review on this property. stayed earier this year and its a lovely part of the country to get in a car and sample the local countryside. The sole reason this property was booked though was for the hot tub and there was no privacy when enjoying this facility. A security camera from the owners cottage in pointing to the stables with the hot tub in direct line was very off putting. There was a time limit of 11pm for the hot tub use which was disappointing,.decent accomodation though..

We stayed here for my hen weekend at the end of February. I can not recommend this cottage enough. Even before we arrived the owners were lovely and really helpful even when we couldn't say what time we would be checking in / out. The cottage was spotless when we arrived and very well equipped. The cottage really is in the middle of nowhere and the views are amazing. There are stables right next to the cottage and we were soon greeted by the resident horses. We made full use of the kitchen facilities and then the hot tub which was lovely. We drove into York one of the days and it didn't take long at all to get there so ideal for a base outside the city centre. I wanted a weekend away to de-stress and forget about all the wedding plans and this was the perfect place to do it. The only thing I could think of if I was trying to be picky is there is very little phone reception and we couldn't access the wifi but that turned into a blessing as it meant we didn't spend all weekend on our phones. I am currently trying to think of an excuse to visit again.

We have just arrived back from this cottage where we stayed for 1 week with our 2 dogs! the cottage has a very warm, cosy, homely feeling,we loved the Horses & the family animals also we had a warm welcome from the owners. However on booking this holiday the pictures that you see of the location need to be updated, they are not the same on your arrival very outdated which can be misleading. The hot tub was a problem it is situated too close to the family home also the owners are at their stables alot tending to their Horses, this includes the evening, we felt we should wait until they had finished be for we used the hot tub!the hot tub was one of the main reasons we booked here. The cottage itself needs a little T.L.C for there was alot of dust on the curtains also in other numerous places, the area is very pleasant & if you admire walking like we do then you will enjoy Brandsby & the surrounding areas, it is quite a long travel to the nearest amenities but there is some nice shops to be desired. We had a problem with wifi we could not connect at all, in the information booklet it does say that wifi is available! We did have a nice bonus which was sky TV & I must say that we enjoyed our stay here, just a few things that need to be rectified, if I was asked if I would return i'm afraid I would have to say no mainly because the pictures that I viewed on the cottage mislead me very much, you arrive to some thing totally different also the privacy is a big must!!. Having given my views I would like to say we did enjoy our stay we had lot's of fun, walking, site seeing we did not let these issues spoil our holiday they are quite minor things apart from the privacy!!, the owners are very friendly & I am sure would be only to pleased to oblige.
