Bell Horse Cottage Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Bell Horse Cottage is an immaculately-presented, stone, semi-detached cottage, centrally situated in the pretty village of Ingleton and can sleep four people. The cottage is set over three floors and has a second floor king-size double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen, a utility and a sitting room with a dining area and a woodburning stove. Outside there is off road parking for two cars and a front terrace with furniture. Bell Horse Cottage is a wonderful holiday base.

Area
The attractive village of Ingleton is nestled beneath Ingleborough, one of the famous Three Peaks on the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Offering a wide range of shops, pubs and places to eat, the winding streets of this pretty village all converge on a central market place. A mile outside of Ingleton and down the Hawes road are the well known White Scar Caves. Open to the public, these caves display a huge number of caverns full of stalactites and stalagmites, with one cave home to a huge underground lake. The superb 'Falls Walk' offers an interesting circuit which takes in some of the impressive cascading waterfalls of the area whilst the proximity to both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake distract make this an excellent place for walkers.

Region
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

We have stayed in numerous holiday cottages and this rates as the best to date for standard of accommodation and location; close to both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.

The cottage was a home from home in a fantastic location for walks and visiting surrounding areas of beauty. It was very clean, warm and comfy with everything you would need.

The cottage is perfectly set in the middle of the village so there are shops and cafes on the doorstep, as well as beautiful walks without having to use the car. Our dogs loved the park which is less than a minute from the cottage, and had good swims in the river!

This is listed as dog friendly but it is very small and 2 dogs take up room. The outside was just a roadway leading to the cottage next door and could not be used for BBQ' or drinks without moving to let next door have access. There was no outside area where dogs could be let free as the parking led straight to the road with no gate. There was no ventilation in the living room without using the front door which opened on to the road. The top floor bedroom had a large roof window with about 2 inches opening and was very hot in June. The GOOD point was a large utility room with toilet, washing m/c & drier. The kitchen was small but well equipped.

The cottage was very well presented and comfortable and very suitable for us with a dog. The cottage is well situated in the centre of the village and Ingleton is a good base from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales.

Spent the February half term week with 2 teenagers and a dog in Bell Horse cottage - which was very welcoming, warm and comfortable (thankfully as the weather was cold and blustery). The cottage is right in the heart of Ingleton, just a few steps from the shops, pubs and a justifiably famous waterfall walk. We were a little nervous as to how well the teenagers would cope, but they loved their room, the fabulous bathroom, watching Dvds on the TV and making frequent trips the old fashioned sweet shop. We on the other hand enjoyed the lovely master bedroom on its own floor, the log burner that came with ample logs and the fact that everything was pretty much new and comprehensive. We found it easy to make trips further afield, ending up in Malham, Blackpool and the Lake District. Can thoroughly recommend Inglesports outdoor gear shop in the village - they even have a climbing wall which was fun on a rainy day. The landlord was very helpful - adjusting the hot water temperature, taking in our washing when the washing machine stopped working and sending on something we left behind. Would definitely recommend this cottage - perhaps wifi would have been helpful (did get O2 3G on the top floor) and getting into the parking space is a little awkward

We had a week in this cottage, we were greeted by a Tea loaf, a loaf of bread and two pints of milk, the cottage had everything we needed, was very well furnished and had been refurbished to an exceedingly high standard. The cottage is well placed in the centre of the village with local shops, restaurants, cafe's and public houses and a fish and chip stop all within an easy walk. Ingleton is well placed for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and is close to the Lake District, all in all a very good holiday cottage.

The cottage was very well equipped, beautifully presented and located right in the middle of a lovely little village. There is lots to see and do in the local area and this cottage is the perfect base. Although the village is small there is a great variety of restaurants, pubs and cafes and a convenience store virtually on the doorstep. We had a great time and would definitely recommend the village and this cottage in particular.
