Perfectly placed between the Niçoise capital of the French Riviera and the lively hotspot that is the Principality of Monaco, Mont Boron has long been the haunt of celebrities looking for a location to escape to. Rich, diverse landscapes, from dense forests to scenic clearings, open out to create incredible vistas of the Alps as they slide down into the Mediterranean. The historic port of Nice is a great spot for wining and dining and at just a 20 minute walk away, there's no need to worry about how to get home. For the traveller seeking total relaxation, however, a taxi ride will set you back roughly 20€. The picturesque town of Villefranche Sur Mer is also well worth a visit for sightseeing both day and night and is easily accessible from Belle Vue. Its soft, sandy beaches are a welcome refreshment from Nice's pebbled bay and as the day passes, meander through its quintessential winding stone streets, indulging your senses as freshly caught seafood sizzles in the numerous restaurants and bistros nearby.
Mere minutes from the front door are two bus stops, one travelling east to Monaco and the final frontier of France, Menton, and another west to the centre of Nice. Number 100 serves the line between Nice and Monaco-Menton while number 81 can take you into the gem of the French Riviera, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. At just 1.5€ per journey, it would be difficult to resist exploring some of these opulent destinations. Buses end at 8pm in the evenings, including weekends, and to plan ahead, visit www.lignedazur.com for all public transport services in the area.
