Bodloesygad description

Holiday home
Bodloesygad is a detached, Grade II listed stone cottage, less than one mile from the village of Llan Ffestiniog. The cottage sleeps five people in a king-size double bedroom, one small double, and one family room with one king-size double and one single, and a family bathroom. Also in the cottage are a well-equipped kitchen and a sitting room with a woodburning stove and dining area. Outside is off road parking for 3 cars and a private lawned garden with furniture. Situated in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, Bodloesygad is a lovely family holiday cottage, all year round.

The old slate quarrying village of Llan Ffestiniog quietly rests close to the impressive Manod and Moelwyn Mountains, near the centre of Snowdonia National Park. Nearby Blaenau Ffestiniog, once the world's capital of slate quarrying and in the 19th century known as the 'City of Slate', offers a range of shops and pubs, whilst the surrounding area boasts a variety of things to see and do.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

A great old house with a lovely garden.

We loved everything about this cottage, but for us the fact that our two cocker spaniels were welcome, and at the same time the cottage was beautifully and thoughtfully presented, was just brilliant. I loved all the books, we all loved the stream and the girls adored the wallpaper. I loved the thick walls, the wood fire and the sounds of the sheep and my husband loved the privacy.

The house is beautiful. I have never stayed in such an old property before, 16th century a very special place but with all mod cons. I loved being in such a remote location surrounded by views.

We booked this cottage as a surprise for my Dad's 70th birthday. The location was great and the scenery outstanding, it was extremely picturesque. The cottage itself was wonderful, we particularly enjoyed the log burning fire in the living room and it was a good base from which to explore Wales. My Dad was very pleased with his birthday present!

Loved the location and views. Driving round those roads is a joy to be honest! There was lots to do. Our kids loved it, it was like an adventure for them. Bounce Below nearby is a must for anyone going to this area. We also enjoyed scrambling round the base of Tryfan and other mountains. The cottage was fantastic, it was so full of history and the use of a log burner is always a bonus!

A lovely property in beautiful grounds, ideal holiday accommodation for us. A great location as it was very close to many different locations.

The location is a good base to access all areas of Snowdonia. We liked the traditional features of the cottage and the lovely cottage garden. A great place for family holiday, peaceful and pretty. Good tourist information left by owners, clean and cosy cottage.

The cottage is very quaint with a lovely wood fire burner (logs were provided to begin with and we got a top up from the local farm for a very reasonable price). The property is nicely decorated and offers all comfort. It is situated within easy distance from places of interest and there are superb walks all around.

This is a lovely old cottage with some original features such as a huge fireplace, stone floors, a slate staircase, some low ceilings and walls over 3 foot thick. The views from the cottage and garden were great. The accommodation was cosy and we found most things we needed were here to use. Only downside was the slate stairs were difficult for my 87 year old father in law especially as the bathroom was downstairs. All in all we enjoyed the stay very much.
