There is a good choice of restaurants, shops and pubs in the town, and many visitor attractions for the whole family such as Eastnor Castle, the Offa's Dyke path and the Mortimer Trail. Charming Hay-on-Wye, famous for its annual literary festival and many book, craft and antique shops, is nearby, as is Hereford, known for its incredible Norman cathedral and 13th century Mappa Mundi.

Having a toilet upstairs and downstairs was good and the whole property was spotlessly clean. Easy parking with plenty of space.

The cottage was in a lovely place. Nice and quiet too. The owners were friendly enough but didn't pester us. It was a good price for half term week.

The cottage was very sound proof. The hosts were totally helpful and we struck up a nice relationship with them. Not too far for petrol and shopping needs. We will go again.

The hosts were lovely. It was like staying with friends. Try the Harp in Old Radnor, just a few minutes up the road, for good food and friendly company.

The cottage is not very private - it is behind the owner's house (about 20 feet away) and overlooked. There is no large patio area to rear of the house - it is occupied by the owner's caravan; this appears to have been the case for months. Consequently, there is no private area to sit out and not be observed. We were told we could use the owner's garden but this is not he same when you want to relax. Fortunately, we were out most of the time but it would have been nice to have a private area. The noise from the traffic on the main road is quite loud and can be heard from about 06:00 until 22:00. I was hoping for dark skies in this fairly remote area but there is a street light between the owner's house and cottage (about 10 feet away) and this shines all night!

We arrived to a very warm welcome from the owner. The cottage is small, but big enough for 4 - just. The furniture was clean and comfortable, as were the bedrooms, and a bonus - two loos. The view across the valley is wonderful. There was only just enough crockery/glasses/cutlery. We had some difficulty finding it - it is quite isolated, and the description of how to find the turn off from the main road are a little vague when it's your first time in the area. The isolation isn't a bad thing - so peaceful, especially when you're used to the constant intrusion of the sounds of a city.

Great location. It was very near to the border of Wales, and plenty of places to visit fairly local. Although the weather was not very good the scenery was spectacular.
