Cottage was very comfortable with everything that we needed and more! Swimming pool was lovely - the extended opening times meant that we often had the pool to ourselves. The additional facilities, games room/tennis court/laundry/open spaces etc made this a lovely place to stay and we plan to return sometime soon!

This was our first booking with you and we were delighted by the overall quality of the cottage and the helpfulness of the Sykes Team - very friendly and helpful. We needed to arrive a day later than planned and that was no trouble, so many thanks. It was obvious to us that the cottages had been fitted out with some care, with nice furniture, firm beds and quality linen/towels. It was well cared for, really felt like home and we would have been happy staying for a lot longer! Overall, we were really impressed and very happy with our stay. The children (6 and 9 yrs) reported that this was the best place we've ever rented. The pool was a really big hit with them, as were the grounds. We also used the tennis court and table tennis table. Overall, we thought the cottage was lovely and we'd most certainly book with you again.

December 2012
This cottage is perfectly placed for sightseeing in York. The cottage is very comfortable and has all the amenities needed for a great stay. I would highly recommend this cottage for either a couple or a family.
January 2014
The cottage, grounds and amenities were fabulous. The cottage was clean and comfortable in a quiet area, however close to York itself. Would recommend this cottage to others.
March 2014
The is a charming cottage that is set among a group of other cottages in a quiet rural area surrounded by fields. The grounds were green and well kept with trees and flowers. For amenities there is a building with a game room, a common room, and a large swimming pool along with changing rooms. There is also a small outdoor playground. The common room was the only wifi available but it also had toys for kids and books. The cottage itself is two stories and was clean and in very well kept condition. The lower level has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, a living room area with sofa and TV. Upstairs is the bath and two bedrooms, one with two single beds and one with a double bed. It was very comfortable for 4 people including our 4 year old who enjoyed it a lot including the window seat at the top of the stairs and the pool. It is a short drive out of York and is away from the bustle of town. There are several good places to eat nearby and it is less than 10 minutes to a major supermarket in York for supplies. There is so much to see in the area that 4 nights was not enough and we wish we could have spent more time relaxing at the cottage since it was so pleasant there. We would definitely go back if we were there again.
April 2010
Really enjoyed our stay - Cottage was lovely - My daughter and grandson loved the pool. Lovely location for getting into York. Even though the weather was rotten we had a great week. Recommend highly.
September 2011
Ideal holiday cottage for those with children - nothing too precious to worry about spills. The poolhouse was a little run down but ideal for the couple of wet afternoons we encountered. Easy travel to York, Leeds, Doncaster, the Coast and a number of tourist attractions such as Castle Howard. Needs a drying facility for items which can't be tumble dried and avoid the Tanglewood Pub (worst eating out experience ever!).
Catherine, Nick and the boys
December 2009
Efficient booking service and friendly welcome on site. Cottage was clean, cosy and well furnished. Everything worked well and the children enjoyed their lovely twin room. Location was perfect for visiting York and surrounding areas and very quiet in spite of the proximity to the road. The on-site facilities were really good and we all loved using the swimming pool in the morning. Books and family films in the garden room were a welcome addition. Highlights of the week for us were visiting the air museum down the round and riding the bendy buses from the Park and Ride! Also great fun to be able to use the pool every day. The only negative for us was the difficulty turning right on to the A64, but I'm not sure there's much that can be done about that. Just be patient and a gap will appear!!
December 2009
The cottage was central for touring . Bus stop for making visiting York easy was at end of lane, very handy and saved driving and trying to find a parking space. We felt very much at home as the cottage was very comfortable. Lots of information about eating places, things to do and places to visit. The staff were very helpful. Would certainly recommend this cottage. Only criticism was that there was no bread bin.
