In a good location for us, an hour from home, excellent for a weekend break. The kitchen/dining room was a good focus for meals/talk etc. It was warm and welcoming with comfortable beds and lots of space. A good base for the Staffordshire side of the Peak District.
Mr Cleal

This cottage is the full package, generous bedrooms, excellent furnishings and everything that could be needed for a weekend away. The house is a fantastic size for the number of people it sleeps and is only a short walk away from the town centre.

A beautiful large house with plenty room for two families to share. There are plenty of bathrooms and a lovely garden aspect from kitchen. It was a nice 5 minute walk into the town centre of Leek yet it felt peaceful as it was set back slightly from the main road. The best self catering house we have stayed in and would return to in the future. Would recommend to families.

October 2014
A huge holiday house with lots of room for our party of six. We never felt on top of one another due to the space in the house. The owner provided everything you could possibly think of, with more than enough towels for our week's stay, plastic plates cups for children and full Sky TV. Huge, comfortable beds and a lovely big dining table which we often sat around with a glass of wine! The house is only a 10 minute walk into the town and around a 25 minute drive to Alton Towers. We've booked several houses with Sykes before, but this was by far the best.
Mrs Lawrie

The property has spacious rooms, was very clean, good quality furnishings in a pleasing style. The three toilet areas a bonus! Large kitchen area with patio doors so always able to see outside and this made it a light airy room. The property also very private. Good information by email prior to journey Close to supermarket for shopping. Close to town centre Good base for sightseeing

Excellent house, with plenty of room. Great kitchen that opened onto the garden. Nice that the house is set back from the busy road quite a bit, so there was no noise. Lovely surroundings. Thank you very much!

Good spacious accommodation for all our requirements, we had a party of eight, and we found the house large enough for our needs. Very good parking, with enough garden to enjoy. It had a very good homely feel to it. We all enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table for talking and meals.

We were very impressed by the cleanliness and spaciousness of the property. The decoration was also very tasteful and in keeping with the style of the house. The position was also excellent as we could walk into Leek.
Mrs Bason
May 2013
The size of the house was very good, 3 of the 4 bedrooms were very generous, 2 of the rooms had super-king beds which were a real luxury. I would love to have a house like that and mentally arranged my furniture in it!
Mrs Newman

The kitchen was brilliant with the big table and chairs. The owner was really good with her communications and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and all the information we would need. Comfortable beds, proper parking. Overall really great place and would definitely like to go back again with the family.
Mrs Calvert

We had a fantastic stay the house was just lovely. Spacious, clean and very comfortable beds. We spent most our time outside or in the kitchen so the children were in the garden all the time. We hope to be back next year.

Lovely commodious house in a great location. Just up the road from Leek town centre (easy walking distance) and a plethora of pubs and restaurants. House itself was well appointed with lots of rooms so that even full occupancy did not seem crowded. Lovely BIG kitchen with plentiful cutlery, glasses and utensils. Sky t.v. was a plus as was the free wi-fi! Ample parking for several cars. Comfy furniture and beds. Some maintenance and upkeep issues like the loose parquet flooring in the hall, upstairs shower leaking into downstairs shower room and door handle in downstairs bedroom hanging off. These minor issues were not enough to spoil a fantastic stay at this lovely house. Would definitely book again!
September 2014
We have just returned from a long weekend at Brooklyn. We were a party of 9 and the house never felt cramped. Huge bedrooms with very comfy beds & plenty of bathrooms along with an amazing kitchen & a lovely lounge & conservatory made for a great base for us to explore the Peak District. Nice extra touches included televisions in all bedrooms, wifi & books, DVDs & games for us to use. Ample parking and a nice garden also came in handy. Shops and pubs are within walking distance and we enjoyed days out to Matlock & Buxton. Would definitely stay here again & can't recommend it highly enough.
July 2013
When I first showed a friend the picture of Brooklyn she thought I was hiring an apartment there, she could not believe I had got the whole building! The property was very big and we had plenty of room. The size of 3 of the bedrooms really makes you wish you had one just like it at home! You are also never short of an electric socket as they are everywhere you look! Just a shame about the awful weather we had. It would have been nice to have had a visitors book so that we could have seen where other people had been but we found places to visit. Went to Churnet Valley Railway which is 2 for 1 if you get an 'enjoy'card which you can apply for online. Trentham Gardens and Monkey Forest is also worth a visit. The only thing I was disappointed with was that I could not get the spa bath to work but that was a minor problem. The land behind the house is amazing, it can be accessed through the bushes and is worth exploring if you have wellies on as there are brambles etc but years ago it would have been an wonderful garden complete with a little bridge over a stream
March 2014
Lovely house very comfortable large rooms luxury bathrooms and shower rooms very good kitchen well equipped Close to supermarket, close to town centre Had a lovely stay there
August 2014
We have a long weekend twice per year as a family group. There are six of us and we need a property with four bedrooms, but reasonably-priced four bed rentals are not always easy to find. This one, however, was all that we could have hoped for, and more. The property is very impressive from outside, with plenty of parking and outside space. Inside,it has lovely big rooms, a fantastic kitchen diner and plenty of bathrooms. It's about a ten minute walk from the centre of town and was absolutely ideal for us. Definitely recommended.
March 2013
A group of 10 stayed at this lovely cottage in May 2012. We had a fabulous stay, the owner was very helpful and had left an abundance of information about activities in the local area. The cottage is very spacious, it maintains some original features however has all the mod cons that you would like in a property. The owner has added a few personal touches that made the cottage even more pleasant to stay. There isn't a great deal to do in Leek however it is a very convenient location for Alton Towers and walks in the Peak District. We had a lovely stay here and thought it was very good value for money. I would recommend this cottage.
February 2013
We hired Brooklyn for the week and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. An ideal property for a family or a large group. Leek has a variety of small independant shops (try Haywood Interiors) and local markets so if you're looking for a High Street as it used to be then Leek's the place to go.
