Bryn Penmaen description

Holiday home
Bryn Penmaen provides comfortable and well-equipped holiday accommodation to suit a family or a couple at any time of year. Decorated and furnished to an exacting standard, the cottage provides accommodation including two bedrooms, a fitted kitchen with dining area, and its own pretty lawned garden and patio. The name Penmaen means "on top of the rock" and the cottage, the owner's house, and the estate's gorgeous landscaped gardens, including an old tower with sitting area, are situated in an elevated position overlooking Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia.

The unofficial capital of the stunning Lleyn Peninsula is the bustling market town of Pwllheli, a traditional seaside townthat offers a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Renowned for its sailing and water sports, the town is home to a marina which holds 400 boats, and two beaches, one of which holds a Blue Flag Award. The Lleyn Peninsula has incredible scenery, remote bays, sandy beaches, beautiful coastal walking, and excellent golf courses. The peninsula is recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a large part of the coastline is owned and managed by the National Trust. The pretty harbour town of Abersoch; Criccieth, with its medieval castle, and the wildlife haven of Bardsey Island are all close by. The magnificent scenery of Snowdonia and the Isle of Anglesey are waiting to be discovered in this stunning part of North Wales.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Bryn Penmaen was the perfect base for our family holiday on the Llyn Peninsula. A friendly welcome, beautiful gardens and comfortable and well kept accommodation made us feel right at home. Based on the outskirts of Pwllheli we were close to the beautiful beaches of Llanbedrog and Abersoch to the west, and the attractions of Criccieth and Porthmadog to the east.
Mrs Case

Beautiful large estate and gardens, fantastic. Peace and quiet yet only 1 mile in the car to Pwllheli and 6 miles to Abersoch. Lovely owner, not intrusive but always there if you needed anything. Particularly loved the large kitchen and lead straight into a private garden with table and chairs. Ideal for eating out.

A beautiful, secluded, holiday cottage - but only a 20 minute walk from the town. Set in wonderful gardens with fantastic scenery. We could not fault this property in anyway. Definitely a 'home from home'. Would book again.

The location, scenery, weather and the scenic drive to get there was great. Helpful and friendly host. Good game of golf at Pwllheli. Overall very relaxing.
December 2012
Although I was on crutches the cottage provided perfect accommodation with comfortable beds superb dining kitchen and patio dining.the views from the superb garden were spectacular and the space delightful. We had a lovely week the friendly owner was not intrusive but helpful when needed. The only negative comment would be the seating in the lounge room which was very low and not very comfortable but otherwise an excellent find.
July 2013
The cottage had everything we need mrs jones and her family were very friendly the gardens are stunning and the view is fab we will be returning back to here
July 2014
On arrival,Mrs Jones was there to greet us and made us welcome. We were impressed on the way up to the properties by the fantastic views of the grounds and distant views of the sea etc. Our party was myself and elderly parents who loved the grounds and pleasant strolls in the grounds each evening. The bungalow was spotless and felt like a home from home straight away. I particularly enjoyed the spacious kitchen with lovely dining table and chairs, however the week we chose was gorgeous and we ate sometimes outside in the private garden at the wooden table and chairs available there also. Very peaceful and not overlooked. Cannot emphasise enough the lovely grounds which you could wander around at any time of the day, some beautiful flowers and sitting areas too Couple minutes in car to Pwllheli market and shops so easily accessible too. Bathroom has shower over the bath but the bath is quite low and there is also a bath shower stool available in the bathroom if required,Helpful for an older person. We will be back next year and look forward to it. Fantastic week could have stayed longer!!!!
September 2011
A lovely cottage very peaceful, a great place to unwind. The beautiful rockery is much bigger than in the photo's with stunning views as far as the eye could see. The owner greeted us on arrival then left us to get on with relaxing, the rockery was huge and they are still adding to it :) The cottage is lovely. There were three of us the wife my mum and me,every hour my mum would announce how beautiful the cottage was, she was made up . We were about a mile away from Pwllheli, my wife walked to the town it took her about 20 minutes .This is the first cottage we have booked and we couldn't fault it . We would book it again . Fantastic cottage Just book it, you wont be disappointed
November 2010
This is a well equiped bungalow in a very convenient location for exploring the Llyn Peninsular. The owner's grounds are lovely and the site is delightful. The interior is a little dated but spotlessly clean. Would benefit from the addition of a dishwasher!
November 2010
Bungalow was nicely tucked away from the maddening crowds meaning a peaceful start and finish to each day. Ideally located to visit the Lleyn peninsula (which we did) and we were blessed with glorious weather. Only one duff day, and even then the rain cleared up by mid-morning.
November 2010
Mum and Dad loved the cosy bungalow and felt at home the moment they arrived. They previously stayed with us at Penmaen Bach next door, and liked the look of Bryn Penmaen so much that they decided to stay there too. They loved the surrounding gardens and glimpse of the sea in the distance. Everything they needed to make their stay enjoyable.
September 2010
A lovely bungalow in beautiful grounds and the owner has created the biggest ever rock garden we had ever seen. The bungalow was very comfortable, cosy and had everything you needed - a lovely big kitchen and a very useful utility room for boots and coats. The peninsula was very beautiful with lots of walks and fantastic scenery - we were a bit unfortunate with the weather but we still had a lovely time
December 2009
The cottage was in a wonderful location and Mrs Jones and her family couldn't have been more helpful.
December 2009
The cottage is compact but has all essential facilities. Maintenance and cleanliness to a high standard . We had a week of sun so I cannot comment on the effectiveness of the heating. The situation is excellent in the grounds of a large farmhouse , quiet and civilised and yet so close to all the magnificent mountain ,sea and beach scenery that this peninsula has to offer. I would not hesitate to use it again.
