We particularly enjoyed driving through the private park on the way to Callow Cottage, with sheep and cows wandering around. With a fully fitted, clean kitchen, with all crockery and cutlery catered for, we felt well looked after. The WIFI access was great, the views from the cottage absolutely superb and the kids were overjoyed with sheep at the bottom of the garden. They were almost as happy when finding a swing attached to the large tree on the left of the garden gate in the 'sheep's' field. A fantastic 5 nights sleep was had by all, with clean sheets and duvets on very comfortable beds. This was followed each morning with a breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the garden. All in all - great break away, in a well looked after cottage, highly recommended and will (subject to availability) book again without hesitation.

We loved Callow Cottage, it was a real home away from home. It was cosy, warm, clean and had everything we needed. The wood burning stove was fab. The surrounding area was beautiful and the village pub was lovely and cosy. The owner at Callow Cottage was warm and friendly and was very helpful when we needed help. We would definitely use again and recommend to family and friends.

A lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful, peaceful location. Compact but has everything you need. Lovely garden - backing directly onto fields so loads of space for kids to play. Beautiful views. Love the wood burner and really decent wifi - kept the kids happy! Really convenient for Alton Towers. Local pub 5 minutes walk and serves good food. Our second Easter spent here and loved it. Would highly recommend for a quiet relaxed get away.

A perfect size of cottage for us - comfortable without being plush. Best of all we were able to open the back gate and let the boys play on the hillside in sight of the house. I spent some of my childhood near by and we visited familiar, beautiful places, ate cream teas then came home to our cosy cottage!

Callow Cottage is a lovely cottage in a wonderfully peaceful village. Cosy and with the most amazing views. The cottage has all you need for a great stay in beautiful surroundings. The kids could run and play up the hill behind the cottage without us worrying. Breakfast in the conservatory is a real joy.

A lovely cosy cottage in a pretty little village, near to the areas we wanted to visit. It had everything and more that we needed for our stay. Ideal location for walkers with many local footpaths within yards of the property, yet also ideal if driving to visit the scenic villages and countryside within easy reach. We will definitely return and thoroughly recommend it.

The cottage is situated perfectly with beautiful views front and back yet close to Ashbourne and walking distance to a pub serving lovely food. The owners were friendly and helpful and the cottage is furnished and equipped to a high standard.

Great location for exploring the Peak District. The cottage was wonderful, cosy and welcoming, and we LOVED the back garden and the little gate leading directly onto countryside walks. The local Oakley Arms did a super dinner, and Ashbourne was just down the road. Would love to come back.

This was a lovely, well supplied cosy little cottage, in a peaceful location. It had everything in it we would have wanted. The woodburner was fabulous during a very cold Easter break. Lovely to come back after a busy day at Alton Towers. The owners were very helpful and their recommendation of a short walk along the river to the Royal Oak at Mayfield was spot on. Delicious roast, one of the best I've had of late.

The cottage was just what we wanted for our break. It was cosy, comfortable and very well placed. There were open views front and back and a walk starting from the back gate. Ashbourne was in walking distance but an easy drive took us in to the Peak District. The owners were welcoming and helpful and had already lit the wood burning. We are seriously considering booking the same property for a longer stay in the summer.

The cottage was near enough to town for shopping but far away enough to make you feel like you were away from it all. Very quiet and peaceful. Locals were lovely and there was a great pub just a five minute walk away. Views from the front and back were beautiful. We had a great time.

Excellent location, very peaceful but conveniently close to bigger town. Pleasantly surprised by interiors, bigger and lovelier than suggested in photos. Great green views from all windows.

The owners were very pleasant and the next door neighbours had a well stocked bird table, which we watched for ages. Close to town, but in the country and the local pub was very good. Excellent base for National Trust property visiting.

We were very happy with our holiday. We were returning to spend a week in a cottage where we had previously spent a long weekend. The area had a mixture of activities that suited us very well. The cottage was comfortable and in quiet, beautiful countryside. We would happily recommend the cottage and area to friends.

We highly recommend this cottage - it was more like using someone's home for the week rather than a holiday rental. It had everything we needed, including the friendly and welcoming owner literally right on the doorstep! Although she was going away over the weekend we arrived, she arranged for her neighbour to drop in to make sure we had settled in OK - lovely touch, and much appreciated. Great walks straight from the back garden - even the weather was kind!

The Cottage is in a really pretty village, with lovely views across the countryside. The moment we arrived we all felt relaxed, it is a real home from home. The location in Derbyshire has plenty of things to do in and around the local area. I think the thing we all enjoyed the most was lighting the fire in the evening.
