Dunvegan is a village on the Isle of Skye, home to some shops and hotels and Dunvegan Castle, about a mile out of the village, home to the Clan MacLeod. The Cuillin Mountains are within easy reach and are well worth a visit while Portree, the island's only town, boasts a harbour and a good selection of shops, hotels and restaurants.
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
