Cappacurry Cottage description

Holiday home
Cappacurry Cottage is a stone-built, detached cottage, which is situated in the townland of Cappacurry, close to the market town of Ballinrobe, County Mayo. This cottage sleeps four people and has two double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room, as well as a ground floor family bathroom. The cottage also has a kitchen with dining area and woodburner, a utility room and a sitting room. To the outside of this cottage there is off road parking for four cars, a lawned garden to the front with a bench and a side patio with furniture. Cappacurry Cottage is a perfect holiday home for couples or a small family who wish to explore this part of Ireland.

Area
The market town of Ballinrobe in County Mayo is said to be the oldest towns in South Mayo and is set close to the three Loughs of Mask, Carra and Corrib. The Mayo coastline is within easy reach and the stunning Connemara National Park is within driving distance and is well worth exploring.

Region
The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.

Lovely cottage and had everything we needed for a family of four. Great location to explore the West of Ireland, particularly Westport and Galway which had loads of activities for the kids.

This is a very homely and comfortable cottage just outside Ballinrobe and very convenient to nearly stores. This is a good base to visit many of the attractions around the area. Two well behaved pets are allowed at the property which was an advantage for us. We enjoyed our stay at Cappacurry very much.

The cottage provided a really comfortable and cosy base to return to each evening. A lot of thought had been put into what was provided and it was the little thoughtful touches that made this cottage such a perfect home from home.

A lovely Cottage within driving distance of so many beautiful places. Stunning Clew Bay and Achill were personal favourites. Wild Atlantic Way signage added interest - very helpful.

Loved the cottage and locality as we were holidaying with my family who live in Parks and Carnacan. It was lovely to have a well equipped kitchen as I was able to cook many meals and family could visit because of the easy locality.

This cottage is lovely, we thoroughly enjoyed our one weeks stay here. It was comfortable and warm with good facilities and was peaceful with plenty of room. It is within easy reach by car to many attractions with Westport town approximately a 25 to 30 minute drive. We would definitely stay here again if we were to re-visit this part of Ireland.

The feeling of having my own house, because we had a wonderful and big garden and nobody has disturbed us. The closeness to the next town with pubs and shopping facility was very comfortable. It was quit though there was a road in front of the house. The house was very tidy and cosy. Everything was there and we never missed anything.

...for one week. The house ist lovely. Situated between farmland with cows, but the next supermarket not far away. The street in front of the house isn`t that loud. Especially at night there is no trafficnoise. Inside is everything you need. It is cosy, warm and comfortable. The check-in was easy to handle. Very friendly hosts.

This holiday property is clean and comfortable. Facilities such as washing machine, dryer and dishwasher, although not used by us, would be handy for someone on a longer visit to Ireland. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need for your stay. Although Ballinrobe is not a pretty town it is functional and has two large supermarkets, restaurants and a few shops. Ballinrobe is a short drive from the cottage - I would not recommend walking into Ballinrobe. The property is within driving distance of stunning countryside and I can recommend trips to Cong, Westport, Galway and Clifton. If you want to go further affined the cliffs of Moher are maybe two hours drive. The only negative comments are that the nearby road is high speed, very busy and sometimes noisy. so the garden is not really suitable for unsupervised children or pets. Additionally both bathrooms are a little 'tired' and could do with some easy fix maintenance.

It was a lovely location and central for us. Quiet and peaceful and yet local amenities were a short distance away.
