Ceo na Locha description

Ceo na Locha (The Mist on the Lake) is a private-gated, lakeside bungalow nestled discretely in the heart of beautiful unspoiled Ballinaglera in County Leitrim.

Available for both short term (950 euros per week) and long term (1,950 euros per month).

Surrounded by lakes, mountains and rugged countryside, this unique rental is approached from the main Dowra Rd, six miles from Drumshambo, and one mile from the quaint village of Ballinaglera. The lively town of Carrick on Shannon is just a thirty minutes drive away.

Exuding peace, gentleness and tranquility; this is a place where one can unwind and refuel. The unspoilt environment offers a place of relaxation and reflection. This unspoilt environment provides a refuge for the weary, a still point for relaxation and reflection, and a place where nature has lavished it bounty.

As you drive in the gated property, into a long wide smooth laneway, with meadow on the right, you approach through another gate - a one acre spectacular view of the cultivated terraces. The area is decked with carefully planned smooth paths around the property and leading right down to the lake. These varied pathways are accommodating to those with limited mobility.

Each area of the grounds and gardens is decked with garden furniture, and various seating places to maximize enjoyment of the varying views and ambiance. The magic of the environment is enhanced by the pergodas, the gazabo, the country pump seating area and other beautiful features. The orchard, the luscious vegetable tunnel, and fruit cage all contribute to the green environment. Together and individually, panoramic views of the Sliabh and Eireann mountains, Loch Allen, and the surrounding countryside inspire the hearts of all who enters here.

It is a haven for the reflective creative mind and body. Here one can't but stop and stare. Even a short stroll to the lake offers solitude and tranquillity, backed by the lapping of the waves and the tranquillity of the birdsong.

This is a four bedroom house. One of the four rooms is also a study/single bedroom. Sitting at your desk, you can take a breather as you cast your eyes on the long lane leading down from the house. It carries the eye beyond the gates to the beautiful mountain range and dotted houses on the hillside.

There is a bathroom beside this room with a Jacuzzi bath, and heated towel rails. The master bedroom has a super king size bed. All three bedrooms are ensuite, all have heated towel rails, underfloor heating and ample wardrobe and storage space. The lake bedroom has a king-size bed and an ensuite containing a shower/steam room. The front lake room also has a king-size bed. All beds are of the highest quality. Floors and doors are solid oak.

The hallway and kitchen/diner has clean ceramic tiles, easily maintained.

The kitchen is equipped with every mod con, including two electric ovens, large fridge freezer and dishwasher. A well-equipped utility room is beyond the diner, containing washing machine, drier, iron and ironing board and larder for food storage.

The Kitchen/Diner with large windows and double doors gives breath-taking views as you prepare your organic vegetables at the expansive black granite island. As you share a meal and enjoy the work of your hands around the marble dining table, with its comfortable leather chairs, don't be surprised if your exquisite views fade into dusk and dark. It's easy to get lured into timelessness in relaxing conversations in such a setting.

So it's time to retreat to the Lounge, a comfortable homely space, cosy in winter and summer with its underfloor heating, beautiful marble open fireplace, exquisite coving and its large double glazed glass doors .These open out to the spectacular variety of views including the lake below, the swaying trees and the bird table on the lawn. The Lounge is furnished with the distinctive Old Charm furniture, a large television, a music centre and interesting book shelves.

And whatever the weather, this home is bound to give comfort and relaxation to all who come here.
