Chapel Close is a detached cottage in the hamlet of Santon Bridge within the Lake District National Park. The cottage has four ground floor bedrooms - two twins, a 4' double and a double with an en-suite shower room. Also on the ground floor is the family shower room, the kitchen and the hall with dining area. On the first floor is a sitting room with electric fire. Outside is off road parking for four cars, and gardens to the front and rear including a beck flowing through. Chapel Close makes a great base for groups who wish to enjoy the proximity to good walking and climbing country, to take a trip on the Ravenglass to Eskdale Railway, or simply to explore this part of Cumbria.
The picturesque hamlet of Santon Bridge sits in an area of Cumbria that is relatively undiscovered by tourists and has remained unspoilt as a result. The horizon surrounding Stanton consists of stunning views of various mountains, including Great Gable, Hard Knott, Muncaster Fell, Harter Fell and England's highest peak, Scafell. The village itself is very small and tranquil, consisting of a few farm buildings, a number of cottages and a local pub, which serves excellent food to locals and visitors alike. In addition to the walks and cycle-trails in the area, there are many local attractions to enjoy, such as the World Owl Centre, Muncaster Castle and Wastwater, the deepest lake in the UK. To take in the scenery, but without the effort, there is a miniature railway that leads from Ravenglass to Eskdale; a truly stunning journey in which to soak up the splendour of the region.
