Charlotte's Stable Cottage description

Holiday home
This delightful stone cottage is all on one floor and is located down a quiet country lane on the edge of the village of Longframlington. The property was awarded Silver in the North Eastern Tourism Awards in 2006. The accommodation is spacious and furnished to a high standard. The open plan living area has a fitted kitchen, a lovely dining space, and the sitting area has an open fire giving a welcoming and cosy feel to the cottage. There are two charming bedrooms both with en-suite wet rooms.

In the heart of rural Northumberland lies the charming village of Longframlington, which has the advantage of being situated between the Cheviots and the stunning Heritage Coast. It is an ideal base to see the variety of scenery Northumberland has to offer. Alnwick is only six miles away with its renowned castle, gardens and a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. A 10-minute drive away is Cragside House and Gardens, a National Trust property. Nearby is Brinkburn Priory, a restored Augustinian Priory, which is in a beautiful spot beside the River Coquet. The coast is only 15 minutes by car and has miles of unspoiled sandy beaches to walk along. This area has plenty of walking country to enjoy as well as many other outdoor activities, making it a great choice for a family holiday all year round.

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

The owners were the perfect hosts, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was like home from home with everything we could ever need. It is in a perfect location, overlooking the farm, down a quiet lane but with easy access to the A1 and all the surrounding attractions. Would book this again.

This bungalow is in a very quiet location and is also a good base for visiting places of interest. The owners are very friendly and there is a small bar available which is a good place to have a catch up with other holidaymakers. This was our second visit and did not disappoint and we hope to return again one day.

The cottage is in a lovely setting, with both dramatic countryside and the sea all in easy reach. Well equipped leisure centre - the pool was fantastic! Very welcoming hosts, and friendly village in walking distance with well stocked local shops. Good food at the 'Village Inn'. We'll be back!

The cottage was superb, friendly and welcoming owners, perfect for someone who has limited mobility. The facilities on site were wonderful. A great location for visiting the area and some great pubs nearby. The Anglers Arms at Weldon Bridge where the meals were excellent was one. The village shop has a great cheese selection! Highly recommended.

The friendly, helpful attitude of everyone we met made us feel at home. Nellie the dog was a particular highlight for my children, they were very sad to say goodbye to her.

It was 5 star accommodation and facilities in a lovely, quiet, rural setting. The pool and spa were great. Easy to access to surrounding attractions and villages. Children loved the cows, the pig and the open spaces to run around.

Location of the property and the leisure facilities attached were ideal for our requirements.
July 2013
We chose Charlotte,s Stable because of the pool which was wonderful. It was heated, clean, large and not too deep. Everyone using the pool at the same time was very friendly and helpful. There were good pubs in the area and plenty to do and see. It was lovely to have the pony right outside the stable and sheep with their lambs beyond. It was a thoroughly lovely weed despite the grim weather. The only disappointing thing for us was paying double for a half-term week.

Overall a superb holiday. Lots of top class facilities and friendly staff.
October 2011
The booking service provided by Sykes was good. The only downside was having to pay two booking fees to stay in the same cottage for two consecutive weeks - a bit unfair. The cottage was lovely, clean and well maintained. The onsite bar and pool were great. The location was very peaceful and was a good base to explore the surrounding area.
August 2012
Lovely countryside and good food in the village pubs. Owners very friendly and helpful nothing is a problemn.
November 2010
Excellent accommodation with bonus adjoining leisure facilities.
September 2011
A wonderful cottage with everything you will need supplied. Two bedrooms with on-suite wet rooms. Both rooms have a double and a single bed which would accomodate various family numbers. An on site Leisure Centre was very acceptable with free swimming, hot tub, sauna and steam room. There are also a gym, massage and many treatments for a small charge. An ideal place two explore the beauty of Northumberland from.

Excellent property, well situated in the centre of all the local attractions
December 2009
lovely standard of accomadation friendly hosts with the added bonus of the onsite leisure facility
December 2009
The cottage was very well equipped, very clean and the owners were most helpful. A bonus was having the use of the leisure facilities free of charge and we made full use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Providing you have a car the cottage is an ideal base to explore Northumberland and we can thoroughly recommend the Granby in the village for excellent food.
