Coach House description

Coach House is a terraced tack/harness room conversion which enjoys a tranquil setting along with three other similar properties on this beautifully maintained holiday estate. It is well-equipped and furnished to ensure a holiday that is as comfortable and relaxing as possible. A very warm welcome awaits all who stay at Aigas Holiday Cottages and play on the golf course. The cottages are run by three dedicated generations of family whose enthusiasm and passion for the area ensure guests enjoy a relaxing break. Nearby you will find a table tennis room, laundry room, a well equipped golf practice area and even a coffee shop with free internet access – so why not try a round of golf on the beautifully manicured 9-hole parkland course? This particular feature is very popular with guests, not many places offer the opportunity to be on the first tee just two minutes’ walk from the front door. For those of you who have not tried the sport, you can hire clubs, trolleys or carts at a very reasonable cost.
The cottages’ central Highland location makes them a perfect base from which to explore this wonderfully scenic area. Inverness, the Highland capital, is only 15 miles away and offers superb shopping in the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Victorian-style Market Arcade and the pedestrianised high street. One feature of Inverness that all visitors love is the fast flowing River Ness with its dark waters running through the middle of the city. There is a good range of visitor attractions here in the form of art galleries, a sports centre (with climbing wall), Aquadome (with flumes and wave pool), cinemas, museum, theatre and the Bught Floral Hall. On the western edge of the city you can take a boat ride along the Caledonian Canal to Loch Ness.
Aigas lies beside the peaceful River Beauly at the foot of Strathglass, a wide valley with a flat fertile floor met by steep heather-clad and wooded hillsides. The river meanders gently along the length of the valley from Fasnakyle, passing the villages of Cannich and Struy on the way. Five miles west of Aigas near Struy, you can explore the National Nature Reserve of Glen Strathfarrar. Here, one of the largest remnants of ancient Caledonian pine forests can be found and some of the huge population of red deer may be seen. From the village of Cannich, remote Glen Cannich may be explored leading to Loch Mullardoch, which has one of the largest dams in Britain. A few miles further west of Cannich lies Glen Affric, another National Nature Reserve, internationally renowned for its outstanding natural beauty. The Glen Urquhart route east passes the Corriemony burial chamber (built 2000 BC) and heads towards the bustling village of Drumnadrochit and the ever beckoning call of mysterious Loch Ness. In the village of Muir of Ord you will find the Glen Ord Distillery, which is well worth a visit. All the local glens have a beauty of their own and have much to offer the visitor. On the east coast, boat trips can be taken from Inverness harbour (and Cromarty on the Black Isle) to spot the Moray Firth dolphins. Good beaches can be found within an hour’s drive, and you can explore Rosemarkie, Shandwick, Nairn or Dornoch. Some of the more remote west coast beaches are also easily accessible - try Gruinard, Gairloch or Redpoint! Beach 22 miles. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 4 miles.
Coach House can be booked together with Pond View (UK5258), Old Stable (UK5259) and Old Dairy (UK5260) to accommodate up to 20 guests.
