Nestling in 460 acres of unspoilt natural woodland, Ardlamont Estate is ideal for large parties and weddings. It is located in an area of stunning natural beauty with hills, glens, rugged coastlines, white beaches, clear waters and ancient forests. Argyll’s Secret Coast is packed with places to visit and things to do; sailors, walkers, cyclists and artists are all drawn to this area for its beauty. Abundant wildlife can be spotted such as deer, buzzards, otters, golden eagles, red squirrels and if you’re very lucky, basking sharks. The whole area is steeped in Highland history and dotted with ruins, castles and ancient sites. The town of Dunoon is within easy reach and has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Take a steamer cruise and explore the hills and lochs of the Cowal Peninsula. Loch Lomond National Park is just a short drive away and is ideal for walkers and cyclists of all abilities, and boasts a magnificent diversity of scenery with dramatic peaks, waterfalls and hidden caves. Portavadie with its plush marina and restaurant is approximately 5 minutes’ drive away, or you can catch the ferry over to Tarbert to explore the Kintyre Peninsula with ferries to the islands of Islay, Jura and Arran. The historic Ardlamont House is a classical example of a Scottish country house, dating back to at least 1646 when it became the ancestral home of the Lamonts, one of Scotland’s oldest clans. Sumptuous public rooms with blazing open fires, and elegant four-postered bedrooms makes this ideal to enjoy the fabulous surroundings. Beaters Cottage is stone-built with many original features.
