We were about to watch the World Cup Final 2014 with another couple and the conversation turned to plans over Xmas and New Year. We had all previously spent new years eve at hoe due to having small children.
Before we knew it, and much wine and beer later, we were scouring the internet for a holiday cottage big enough for at least seven, with a hot tube which would also accept dogs.
It didn't take long for us to come across Coed-y-Mynach and after we had read the description there were cries of "BOOK IT" being screamed by all parties!
Well, we arrived on the 29th December and I measure the quality of a place by how long it takes me to feel at home. At Coed-y-Mynach that was about 5 minutes.
The location is stunning, the views incredible. It's a little remote, but that's exactly what we wanted but it's only five minutes walk to the bus stop which has regular services into Aberystwyth and other large towns.
The house it self is over two levels, with an excellent family kitchen on one lower level and a fully equipped utility room in the other.
The main part of the house has a huge L shaped lounge with views down the valley and formal dinning room, again with magnificent views of the country side.
Back of the house has one large double ensuite, another double and two twin rooms. Everyone tastefully decorated with excellent bed linen. There is also a bathroom with whirlpool bath and built in TV!
The main bedroom has large doors opening up onto a secluded patio area with a hot tube which is easily large enough for 8 people sitting comfortably.
The place is spotlessly clean.
All in all this was an excellent and it's a place we fully intend to return to again.
