We rented this property from 23 February 2013 until 2nd March 2013.This property is beautifully decorated, and very tastefully appointed. The heating system however leaves much to be desired. The conservatory has no heating at all so is totally unusable in winter and just makes the overall low temperature of the house even lower The "snug!!" never was anything so inappropriately named had just a small log burner as the only form of heating . The main living room temperature even with a log burner going never exceeded 16 degrees. After less than 48 hours we could no longer stay in the property and returned home A total waste of money and having made representations to Sykes and through them the owners, we are told it is all our fault and that we had broken two chairs (false) that are described in the house information pack as "rickety" I also have a mobility problem and it took me 15 not 2 minutes to get from the village car park I would not call it 4 star luxury as we were freezing cold the entire time we were there

The location was peaceful, there were walks from the door and lovely landscapes locally. This was a very well equipped house, one of the best we've stayed in. I tend to look for quality and style and this house oozed it.

The property is well situated in a quiet part of the village and the owners have made it a real home-from-home. It was very well equipped, having read the visitors' book everyone seems to agree that it is a property of a very high standard and one to be recommended.

The Village and surrounding areas were beautiful with lots of interesting sites just a short drive away. To be able to return to such a wonderful property after a days sightseeing or even just to stay and relax was a real bonus.

It was a very comfortable relaxing stay. Children had plenty of room to play in and was very cosy with fire burning. The kitchen was exquisite, far superior to any that we have stayed in before. Beautiful bathroom, a nice big shower and lovely roll top bath.

A fab cottage in a good location for walks from the cottage door. There were excellent local pubs for evening meals.

Dent is a lovely peaceful village and the Manse is located in a quiet location within the village. Perfect. The pubs, shop and car park are all close by as are wonderful walks from the house. The Manse is roomy, very comfortable and cosy after a day's walking with lots of great facilities; the kitchen is superb.

The cottage is in a wonderful location. It is well furnished and lots of attention to detail has resulted in a welcoming, home-from-home feel. The kitchen is a joy to cook in, we rarely ate out. The welcoming touches of wine, flowers and biscuits were particularly appreciated.

Superb cottage to explore the Dales, very well equipped kitchen and good beds and shower and nice welcome from the owners. We had good weather plus the bonus of the Dent beer music festival at the end of June.

Upon arriving at the cottage we were greeted by some lovely flowers wine and biscuits which were a nice gesture. The cottage was beautiful, the decor, the kitchen and the soft furnishings. There was plenty of kitchen space. The beds were really clean and comfortable. It was very peaceful. Very handy having a downstairs toilet. Would be recommending and it is the best cottage we have stayed in.

This holiday house was outstanding. The kitchen was an absolute pleasure to cook in and the house was furnished to a high standard. The countryside was lovely. The kids loved splashing in the many rivers and we all loved the walks and visiting the many viaducts.

This was our first holiday with our one year old, so there was some trepidation in uprooting everything to a cottage in the Dales for a week. As soon as we arrived, all those fears disappeared. This is a beautiful cottage, for which the internet does not do it justice. There is a signifcant amount of room, both upstairs and downstairs. The kitchen is a real pleasure, and has plenty of home comforts. Cleanliness is very good (though there did seem to be some flies about - no real issue). Dent itself is a lovely, quiet Dales town. it is wonderfully picturesque, with great walks from the centre of the village. There is a local shop, which sells pretty much all the essentials, and one nice pub (George & Dragon) and one not as nice (Sun Inn).

We were looking for a relaxed festive break away and that's what we got. Normally travelling to Cornwall, we were well able to negotiate the narrow lane adjacent to the house. But even if we hadn't, it would not have been difficult to park at the road junction and carry bags and provisions to the house. Then park the car in the car park at the bottom of the road with the parking tickets provided. Slept 5 adults and 1 adolescent comfortably for 5 nights. Wood burning stoves easy to use. Kitchen was an absolute surprise. Better than the one at home. If I could have I would have taken it away with me. The TV set up was a bit strange but, enjoying a puzzle, sorted that out. Local pubs nice with reasonable food. Highly recommend!

This seems to be the first review of 2015 so I'd like to report that the property is just as good as everyone said it was in 2014. Very nicely fitted, especially the kitchen, clean and comfortable. We visited in mid September when the wood-burners were more for amusement than necessity, but having lived with open fires I'd be happy to use them in colder weather as well. Dent is a real delight; two fine pubs serving good beer and food, and a village shop that is small but that provided almost everything we needed for a week's holiday

The Congregational Manse a lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle of life in the 21st Century. We visited in the winter and were able to take full advantage of all the wood burners. The cottage was beautifully warm and cosy. It is furnished to an extremely high standard and the kitchen is wonderful, being equipped to a level far in excess of any other cottage I have ever stayed in. Dent is a very attractive village and the cottage is in a very quiet location.
