My wife, myself and our dog recently holidayed in Northumberland for the first time and were delighted when we opened the door to this lovely cottage.
The overall presentation of the cottage could not be faulted, fresh and bright decoration throughout, stylish and new furniture with a great kitchen. It has a very homely feel to it with lots of books, boardgames, DVDs and a great log burner for the colder evenings.
It is the best cottage we have ever stayed in after 30 years of renting cottages in England and Wales. We were immediately made to feel welcome with a greeting card, wine, flowers and home-made cake. (Not forgetting the dog treats, dog bowls and blanket left for the dog!).
The garden at the rear was great for sitting in the sunshine with a cup of tea, watching the local birds, and the separate enclosed grass area was perfect for the dog.
The hamlet where it is situated is really quiet, only 15 minutes walk to a great beach but is still just a short drive to Alnwick, Warkworth and other locations to visit in the area.
We would not hesitate to return there in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to holiday in the area.
