Corner Cottage Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Just five miles from the lively town of Southwold, in the centre of the charming little village of Wangford, visitors will find the attractive, nineteenth century detached house which has been aptly named, 'Corner Cottage'. An unusual property full of period character, the property is able to sleep up to four people, with one double bed and one single bed in a good-sized 'family room', and an individual single bedroom. This truly individual cottage is a great base from which to explore all that the local area has to offer, regardless of the time of year.

Home to a delightful church, an excellent general store and two pubs - one of which serves food - the charming village of Wangford makes an excellent holiday destination. The working lighthouse, award-winning pier, busy harbour, cliff-top cannons, lovely beach and range of shops are just a handful of the great activities available for visitors of Southwold, only a short drive away down the picturesque Suffolk Heritage Coast. Nearby are the WalberswickMarshes, a popular attraction amongst ramblers, whilst Minsmere, one of the country's most famous RSPB reserves is also close by, homing a variety of wildlife for over fifty years. Whether you plan on relaxing on one of the glorious golden beaches, or walking through this fantastic scenery, you're sure to find something to entertain you in this diverse region.

Picturesque rolling Fens, unspoilt beaches, and pretty waterways - East Anglia is a dream holiday destination. Norfolk offers beaches, saltmarshes and quaint villages whilst equally as charming are the coast and countryside of Suffolk.

We were able to relax in complete silence. The pub was friendly and the weather was beautiful, we would 100% go again.

The cottage is in a lovely location, very handy for Southwold. The cottage was very clean and tidy when we arrived. The bedding, towels and tea towels very all very clean and smelled lovely. I spoke to the caretaker of the cottage as I had been given the wrong code for the key safe. She was very helpful.

We would certainly go again, if we go to Suffolk. Although it was without a garden, it was so handy for the Angel Hotel, which was only across the road in the lovely friendly little village. We had three lovely evening meals there, the innkeeper and his wife were like old friends. Another good holiday.

Cottage was in a lovely village. Great location, near to lots of places. Shop in Wangford well stocked pub directly across the road welcomed children. No noise from pub late at night which was great. Cottage had a lot of nice touches to make it feel homely. Really enjoyed staying there. Owner has obviously put a lot of thought in to amenities. Really good.

Quiet village location but within easy driving distance of Southwold which was the main attraction.

A lovely quiet and friendly village, an ideal base for touring Suffolk. An added bonus of an unexpected sky+plus box to counteract the wall to wall sport on TV!

A lovely little cottage - nicely decorated - in a great village - with a very friendly pub opposite. Suffolk is a lovely part of the world with lots to do - great beaches, interesting market towns, great dining out etc.

August 2008
We had a wonderful holiday. The cottage was as described and very well equipped, The only thing that was not good was the weather but there was nothing we could do about that!
January 2015
A quiet, peaceful cottage within a stones throw of a nice village inn. All the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Easy to get to many pretty villages and coastal towns. Handy little village shop two minutes walk away.
February 2013
We really enjoyed our Christmas break at Corner Cottage -- and we were delighted with all the little extras provided, such as Christmas crackers, fizzy wine and biscuits. The cottage is compact and quirky but was cosy and warm and homely and ideal for our party of three. It was convenient for visits to towns such as Southwold, Aldeburgh, Bungay and Beccles and for various nature reserves. The village store, two minutes away, had an amazing range of goods for sale. But the pub across the road was a disappointment, with the regular customers seeming to resent visitors.
August 2011
Charming peaceful cottage with churchyard behind, ideally located for travelling into Southwold. Pub literally across the road which happened to have a beer festival on. Excellent local shop in village. Pity there was no outside space/garden facility with the cottage. Otherwise a thoroughly memorable stay.
January 2011
I think I submitted a review immediately after our visit! Our experience was very positive. The cottage was fine, with a few reservations - the fridge lacks a freezer section & the bottom shelf is missing, it was difficult to get good light to read in a comfy chair, & the lack of any garden would be an issue in the summer. Beyond, the pub opposite serves perfectly good grub, the village shop is useful, & the whole coastal area is lovely.
November 2010
We enjoyed our stay in a pleasantly located village and comfortable accommodation; taking my mother away for a week, self-catering, and exploring the lovely Suffolk locality.
July 2010
Clean and well-equipped cottage, very comfortable for a couple and maybe two small children. Kitchen rather cramped and no freezer box in fridge. No garden, cottage entrance direct from quiet village road . Good general store in village but village pub food mediocre quality. Location handy for the coast and many pretty villages, bird sanctuary etc.
July 2010
Beautiful cottage nice quiet friendly village , cottage very comfortable all resorts within a short drive away really enjoyed our stay would go back again. First time to suffolk/Nolfolk we're smitten.
