Large family home situated in a quiet village overlooking Lough Corrib, 3 km from Cong Village home of “The Quite Man” film and 2km from the village of Cross, on the doorstep to Connemara, just off the main Headford to Cong road. A fishermans, wildlife lovers, artists and birdwatchers paradise, near the shores of both Lough Corrib and Lough Mask. Ideal location for a family with safe enclosed surrounds. gardens to front and rear and a private patio. Locked out-house facilities available adjacent to farmhouse for storage of boat engines, bikes or other valuables.

Day Trips and Entertainment

Childrens playgrounds, in Ballinrobe, Corn a Mona, Claremorris and castlebar, Childrens activity centres in Claremorris “Pots of Fun” and Castlebar “Funster”.
There are a number of good quality and reasonably priced restaurants in the nearby villages of Cong, The Neale and Clonbur.
The local pubs in the villages of Cong, Cross and The Neale provide traditional music and entertainment most nights. Clonbur hosts Irish dancers and set dancers on a Sunday night.
Ballinrobe, the nearest town boasts many restaurants including Chinese restaurants providing a take away menu. There are many public houses in Ballinrobe including a nightclub.
A day-trip to Galway could take in the Galway Arts Festival in mid-July, Galway International Oyster Festival last week of September, or Galway Race Week late July/early August.
The coastal town of Westport is only 30 minutes from the Farmhouse where there are ample amenities for all the family including Westport house and Zoo, Westport Leisure park and cinema and a number of award winning seafood restaurants.
For walking enthusiasts a climb of Croagh Patrick from the village of Murrisk may be an option, where walkers will enjoy a view of the 365 islands in Clew Bay. While at Murrisk visit the National Famine Memorial and the ruins of the 13th century Murrisk Abbey.
Castlebar town is located 20 miles from The Farmhouse where amenities include cinema complex, bowling, go-karting, swimming pool, night club/disco, children's playground, 2 theatres, an arts centre with exhibition galleries.
Nearby in Turlough is the National Museum of Country Life (guided tours, displays, audio and video presentations of Irish Country Life).
