Cotterill Barn has been tastefully converted to a very good standard. Bordering Cumbria and Northumbria, Alston is the highest market town in England, and is ideal for touring the Northern Lakes, the Yorkshire Dales and Northumbria. Within easy driving distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Hexham, Newcastle, the Metro Centre, Beamish Museum, Ullswater and Keswick. Alston lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the Pennine Way running close to the cottage. Needless to say, the area around this detached cottage is nothing short of spectacular. There’s fishing, riding and golf nearby, or you can follow some of the local rambles or the Pennine Way. The glorious coast and countryside of Northumbria is within travelling distance, as is the Scottish Border. Cotterill Barn enjoys rustic views over green fields and wild fells. Alston features a quaint cobbled street lined with public houses, butchers, bakers and its own candle maker. Within the area is an historical Roman fort and visitors will enjoy the museums, exhibitions and sites along Hadrian’s Wall. For more adventurous holidaymakers, you could try water sports at Talkin and Kielder Water. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.Ground Floor:
