Out for a weeks break with my other half. A lovely well equipped cottage with everything we needed. The owner was accommodating and very friendly. The accommodation was nice and clean. There were a couple of minor issues to mention one being not knowing how much electricity costs to budget properly (water heating via immersion heater to shower/wash up. We were relying on a meter reading to pay for this at the end of our stay but didn't have a clue as to how much cash to put to one side). Also we are to used to having soft water in the north west of England, and there were issues with lime in the water causing problems with the toilet flushing. Again though, after a quick call for help the owner showed us how to sort it out. No-one's fault. (Maybe a few lines in the guest information folder?) On the whole, a great break from the rat-race and the hustle and bustle of modern life.

In a beautiful setting with historic ruins on your doorstep, and it is close to the village and not too far from the town. A good location for touring and visiting. A quiet and comfortable retreat to return to after a days sightseeing.
