The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Plenty of crockery and cutlery were provided. In a lovely location and loved the stable door into the garden. Had a great shower!

Pleasant place to stay. Very relaxing with a pub close by that serves very good meals. The garden has plenty of visitors, especially a heron which is attracted to the fish in the pond. View from the house is well worth the effort and the fact that the cottage fronts directly onto the A68 was not a cause of any undue noise.

The Cottage was roomy and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the cottage was ideally placed to explore Kielder and the surrounding areas. I would recommend this holiday cottage no problem at all. Great views and great location.

Had a great stay, really enjoyed the cottage, everything we needed we could find. The overall standard was just what was needed for our cycling holiday. The surrounding villages and countryside were brilliant, a very relaxed place to be. Particularly liked the great log burner and the very well equipped kitchen. For the ladies left at home the jigsaws and books were much appreciated.

We have 3 kids aged 2, 4 and 6 - owner left out a selection of kids books in the very child friendly room which was lovely for them to find and explore. Cottage also had games and toys galore. If you like your coffee there was a shiny new espresso machine - great touch. Plenty of logs, kindling and fire lighters for cosy nights in. The kids also enjoyed the piano. I have no reservations in singing the praises of this holiday let. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

This was the best holiday I ever had! The cottage was perfect for a romantic Christmas retreat. The area is wild and beautiful and after a wintry walk it was cosy and warm in the cottage with the woodburner. Thank you!

A lovely, quiet cottage with nicely decorated rooms. The new conservatory was a nice surprise, and the garden was appreciated as was viewing the garden pond and its lilies from the window in front of the dining table. Feeding the fish proved entertaining too!

Excellent area for walkers and for reaching lots of lovely Northumberland places. Lots of wildlife, with a garden perfect for birdwatchers. We loved the piano, cosy sofa, fire, books - it's a beautiful peaceful haven, and the pictures don't do justice to the size of the living area.

The cottage was really homely, a perfect setting for a lovely Christmas. The well equipped kitchen and large table meant our Christmas dinner went without a hitch and we all absolutely loved the large corner sofa which easily fitted us all on. We would definitely return to this cottage.

Crag View Cottage is perfectly located in a small village on the A68. It is close to Keilder Water, Hadrian's Wall, Hexham, Alnwick Castle Gardens, Lindsfarne, Seahouses and the Farne Islands. It is close to National Trust properties at Wallington, Cragside and Dunstonburgh Castle. We had a fantastic holiday in this stunning area!

We liked the location of the cottage - great for visiting Kielder Park and Hadrians Wall. Lots of nice towns and villages in the surrounding area - Rothbury. The garden was lovely for sitting in the morning with a cup of tea or in the evening with a beer or glass of wine.

we booked this as a dog friendly short break, the accommodation was very clean and welcoming, it was warm with either the log burner or central heating, the kitchen was very practical and well stocked with utensils the bathroom was clean and the shower very powerful. The lounge was cosy and very comfortable after a days walking. The main bedroom is a comfortable double with adequate storage and the second bedroom is a double base bunk with a single on top, very cutely decorated for children it may be tricky for 4 adults!! The garden is completely self contained handy for an inquisitive dog, however there is a pond of significant size which is beautiful. The cottage itself is ideally located on the A68 in West Woodburn, we had not visited any of Northumberland and found this cottage ideally located for visiting Alnwick, Lindisfarne and Kielder Forest, the surrounding countryside is stunning and found driving the tiny country lanes through the national park breathtaking. Equally we were able to walk out the front door to explore the surrounding area safely. the local shop is friendly , sadly we didn't get chance to try the local pub [Bay Horse] which is apparently dog friendly also. A very relaxed weekend.

February 2014
We decided to make the most of February half term byu visiting a part of the country that was completely new to us. We chose Crag View because we liked the location, it looked comfortable, we could put all three kids into one room (meaning no one had to sleep by themselves in a strange place) and it was a good price. We had a fantastic holiday. The cottage was warm and comfortable. The shower was hot and strong at the end of a day spent walking up hills in the cold! The double bed was very cosy indeed. The kitchen was well equipped, and although initally, we could smell the fuel, we left the kitchen door open and it just dispersed. We didn't have any problem with that at all. The cottage was set up with plenty of logs and kindling for our arrival, for which we were very grateful. The kitchen was well equipped, and my 10 year old woke me up every morning asking if I would like an espresso as he loved using the machine. We loved Northumberland, and found the cottage was a great base for visiting Hadrian's Wall, the Borders, and the Northumberland coast. It was the first time we had gone as far North as that for a holiday, and we will definitely be back

This cottage provided a good base for travelling around Northumberland.

The cottage is in a perfect location for walking and driving in Northumberland and even as far as the Scottish borders. It is more spacious and comfortable than most holiday cottages which makes it a relaxing and pleasant base to spend time between outings. The beautiful garden and conservatory were very much appreciated for those days when one wanted to spend a couple of hours resting between walks. The kitchen is large and very well equipped and provided with all those extras like washing powder, dishwasher tablets that can be a nuisance to buy when on holiday. A pub serving excellent food - The Bay Horse - is literally less than two minutes walk from the cottage and the small post office/shop almost next door.

Cooking became a bit of a problem because the smell of heating fuel became quite sickening, had to have doors & windows open when we were using the kitchen, Bed was very comfortable, Sofa was cosy & log fire in the evening was inviting. Garden Pond with fish, nice to relax & watch the world go by. Good base for traveling out & about.

Pictures in book made cottage look fab and it was. Loved the whole of the inside and the garden. Took a little while to work out the heating. (manual or instructions would have been good). Set in middle of very quiet village with post office shop, wonderful inn (great food). Loved the whole week countryside, location, village and the chance to relax. We thought there was an initial supply of logs and we had to go to Corbridge to get some.List of where to get logs.
