Gairloch village also boasts an award winning Heritage museum with the old Rua Reidh lighthouse and many other fascinating exhibits - all housed in a restored farm building. Gairloch's popular 9-hole golf course is situated nearby, close to the beautiful golden-sanded beach. A haven for wildlife, including whales, porpoises, seals and sea-otters, Loch Gairloch is also a bird-spotter's paradise. There are sea fishing and wildlife cruises available from the harbour allowing you to take in the scenery and enjoy wildlife in its natural habitat.

It was private and quiet, there was plenty to see and do. An area of great beauty.

The house is in an ideal location, close to all amenities and adjacent to the golf course and beautiful sandy beach. It was very well equipped and spotlessly clean, it was comfortably furnished and the mattress so comfy, I took a note as I'm thinking of getting one! Cleaning materials were provided free which was very useful. I would highly recommend Creag Hastin and the Gairloch area is fabulous for outdoor activities.

The location, west coast of Scotland was just the best; but also having a comfortable, warm place to stay!

Creag Hastin was so comfortable and the ideal base for touring the area. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We had a fabulous week and Creag Hastin was everything we had hoped for.

We found the house to be very comfortable, scenery very dramatic, loved the location near the harbour and the beach nearby was excellent - sand so soft! Lots of things to do and see, an ideal holiday to relax whatever the weather. Would definitely like to go back again.

Wow, the location of the house was brilliant, within walking distance of all local attractions. The scenery was breath-taking, I've taken so many photographs! The most beautifully clean beaches and sea.

Lovely house in a superb position. By far the best holiday we have had in years; all the ingredients were there; a safe beach, manageable walks for two under-fives and their expectant mum! Stunning views, good child-friendly pubs serving excellent food, boat trip around the loch.

I love where the house is situated in Gairloch. There is a beach nearby, an ATM over the road, a harbour, riding stables, well stocked shop, pub and lovely walks just around the corner. The house is always beautiful and clean and the garden is fabulous too.

Creag Hastin is a delightful holiday property in a prime location in the village within walking distance of the harbour, shops and the Old Inn. We were lucky enough to meet the owner when we arrived and she was very welcoming. The house is comfortable and was spotlessly clean. We will certainly try and return next year.

My first view of this area was on a warm sunny afternoon with all the sail boats on the sea, so beautiful. Very dramatic scenery, lots of things to do and see, lovely sandy beach nearby - perfect for the family including pets - I came home with a puppy from a local farm and his name is Hamish!

This house was perfectly positioned in the small village of Gairloch. Two minute walk down the road, a right turn was the harbour where you could book fishing/whale watching trips and a left turn was the local pub and the flowerdale waterfall walk. Ten minute walk in the other direction was the most amazing beach! We stopped at Creag Hastin with our two dogs and they loved every minute of our fantastic holiday! They were truly tired when we got home as there are so many lovely walks and places to visit. The house itself was clean, homely and well looked after, with everything you need for a self-catering holiday. The house had a massive drive, front garden and another garden to the rear which was very secluded with large hedges all the way round the property (beware with your dogs as there are holes in hedges that they could escape though). Overall an amazing holiday!!!

Our third visit to this property and I was very impressed with the new furniture the owner had installed since our last visit. As usual we had a fantastic holiday with everything we needed close to hand. There are some lovely scenic walks literally on the doorstep with great restaurants and shops close by too. The only downside was the annoying midges which stopped us from enjoying the fabulous garden as much as we would have liked.

Although not a "chocolate box" exterior this is a very comfortable and fully equipped house. Its location is ideal, within walking distance of the shops, cafe, hotels, harbour and adjacent to the golf course and bank and a stunning sandy beach, whilst the large garden retains the feeling of being in the country. The interior was spotlessly clean and had cosy furnishings, lots of books( I loved finding one of the family's Sunday school prize from 1955) and not the clinical Ikea interior of so may holiday houses. The soft furnishings have been tastefully updated since the photos were taken and the mattress on our bed excellent. There are great walks nearby for dogs and the wider area offers innumerable beautiful walks at all levels. On a rainy day the Gairloch museum is fascinating. Many thanks to Mrs Gunn for coming to the rescue when we forgot our towels! Great value for money.

The cottage was very clean, comfy and spacious and had a huge back garden, which the children loved. I found the location of the cottage was central and within walking distance to everywhere we needed to be. Gairloch itself had everything you could want on your holiday!

This is the second year we've stayed at Creag Hastin. The house itself is extremely comfortable and very well-equipped. What makes it an idyllic holiday home, however, is its location. Situated in the Charlestown area of Gairloch it is a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, the beautiful Flowerdale walk, the golf course, the harbour with its friendly shop and a number of boat trips, and the charming Old Inn where you can find very delicious food at a very reasonable price. Both my husband and I, and our four children enjoyed the most wonderful holiday here this year and we were all very sad to leave. Hopefully we'll be back again soon.

We had not been to the Gairloch area before so did not know wether we would like it so only booked Creag Hastin for a week. The cottage is very comfortable and very well equipt. The owners Mr & Mrs Gunn were very friendly and welcoming. It is within walking distance of the shops, cafe, Inn,golf course and beach. We are planning on returning to the cottage for a fortnight next year.
