A wealth of attractions are designed to entertain and inspire visitors to explore further afield. The scenic 20-mile cycle route and footpath on the Ystwyth Trail follows a wonderful woodland and river path and links Aberystwyth to Tregaron. A trip on the Steam Railway from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge is a great way to visit the falls. The seaside resort of Borth is seven miles away with three miles of sandy beach and the 'Animalarium' to keep all ages amused. With so many attractions, the castle, Welsh craft centres and stunning countryside to explore, this is a perfect base for a family holiday.

A lovely cottage, standing in its own grounds. It was warm and comfortable with lovely views. In a good situation for exploring the coast and countryside of mid Wales and with a friendly and welcoming owner.

The standard of the accommodation was first class. We were met by the owner who was very friendly. The location and views were stunning and the grounds were kept immaculately. The games room with a good pool table was a bonus, we couldn't fault this cottage.

Good location and the property was the best we have ever stayed in. Lovely views from the property and not too far from the nearest town. There is plenty to see and do, regardless of weather, and it was awesome to see the red kite feeding station.

This was our second stay at Cwm Derw. It is a lovely, clean, comfortable, well-equipped cottage the owners' warm welcome and attention to detail was very much appreciated. The rural location is beautiful and being just a short drive from Aberystwyth made it perfect for catching up with our son at University. He certainly appreciated staying over took full advantage of our home-cooking and laundry facilities, not to mention the pool table! A lovely break for us all. We hope to return before too long.

This was our first Holiday cottage and it will be hard to beat! We couldn't fault anything about this property! It is in a great location close to all the attractions and things for days out. Everything was thought of and provided for....

The area is beautiful. The bungalow was easy to live in with a young child with an ideal garden to toddle around in and play room mainly used by the adults ! The coast is spectacular with a path to walk along and Red Kites and other birds to observe. We had our grandson with us and he and his parents liked the deserted beach at Borth, the organic deli and the children's play area in Aberystwyth Admittedly the weather was kind to us but there were things to do if it was raining including the steam train from Devils Bridge and the museum in Aberystwyth which they particularly found interesting.

As soon as we were greeted and entered the cottage we knew we had made the right choice. Cwm Derw is lovely, well appointed cottage in a lovely setting. Because of my mother's restricted mobility we had to have single storey accommodation, so this cottage fitted the bill perfectly. I am so pleased with the cottage that I am hoping to get maybe a long weekend here later in the year.

We stayed here in June and were greeted with a warm welcome by the owner. We had everything we needed for a 5 star week at this property. The views are fantastic, it was a home from home and we would definitely stay here again. I actually left something behind and the owners made sure they found rightful owner of the item and sent it to me free of charge, making the after service 5 star as well.

I would like to move in permanently! We were welcomed by the owner in a very friendly and courteous manner. He showed us around the cottage, and gave all the information we asked for. You could not wish for any better accommodation. This was the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in and we hope to return, and return and return!

This was the best house we stayed in out of 3. Absolutely 5 stars! Nice, new home with all the comforts. Good kitchen, fully appointed - even a French press for coffee and most important - wireless internet! We could stay in touch with our business back home. Close to all the western Wales attractions. We used the laundry, but not the game room. The view from the patio and backyard is spectacular. This house made us feel at home, we lacked for nothing. Everything was top notch.
