Dairy Cottage Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
This is a thoughtfully restored traditional terraced cottage in a peaceful cul-de-sac in the heart of Masham. It has been renovated to a high standard and the cottage offers warm and comfortable accommodation with plenty of character. The spacious fitted kitchen is well designed and has a beautiful slate floor, there is a snug with an open fire and exposed beams, the main sitting dining room also has an open fire and a polished wooden floor and both rooms offer cosy and inviting spaces to relax in. The three bedrooms are light and elegant and the bathroom is of the same high standard as the rest of the property. This characterful cottage is a fabulous base offering quality accommodation in which to enjoy this glorious area.

Area
The historic market town of Masham is situated in Wensleydale alongside the River Ure surrounded by gently rolling countryside. The town has a huge market place and was the site for annual sheep fairs with some of the animals coming from the Abbeys of Jervaulx and Fountains. The tradition still continues today in September but on a much smaller scale. The town has a good range of shops, restaurants and pubs and there is a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are many walks in the area including a 10-mile walk along the River Ure which is perhaps one of the best walks in the UK. With so much to see and do, this is a fabulous place for a holiday whatever the time of year.

Region
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Amenities
Gas central heating with open fires in living area and snug. Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, TV, DVD, wireless broadband internet connection, stereo/CD player. Gas, electricity and initial supply of fuel for open fires inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Cot and highchair available on request. Off road parking for two cars. We felt comfortable as soon as we stepped through the front door. It's very homely, you don't feel as if you are in someone else's house. Information is available in the cottage for just about every part of Yorkshire. We had a fantastic time.

Beautiful cottage in the charming, welcoming village of Masham. The property was larger than expected and had loads of character. The central heating was more than sufficient but the open fire in the lounge gave it that something extra. The cottage had everything you could wish for including washing machine and dish washer. At the rear of the property is a small garden area which was a real suntrap when the sun was shining.
Ms Reed
February 2016
The Cottage had everything we could wish for; the kitchen was well equipped and spacious, and the washing machine was a godsend after a day out walking in the muddy fields. We loved how cosy the sitting room was on an evening, especially with the fire lit. We loved our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

Dairy Cottage was delightful, warm and Welcoming. It is comfortably furnished, and very well equipped. The garden was secure, so Russell the dog was able to wander in and out as he pleased. The village pubs served very good food, and allowed dogs, which was a bonus. Everyone was so friendly, and the scenery is magnificent.

We rented this cottage for visiting family. Many thanks for such a beautiful house at such a reasonable price. It was the Canadian part of our family's first visit to the UK and the impression they received of the accommodation was excellent. It really made the week for them.

December 2010
Dairy Cottage felt like home the moment we walked in. It is well set out and very cosy. During our three day short break, there was four inches of snow on the ground and it snowed every day. The log fire was a bonus as were the local pubs for there friendliness and good food and Theakstons ales. We took our dog and the walks around Masham are very good even in the snow. I would recommend this cottage for it's location in the the very pretty village of Masham. We hope to book again in the new year.
Mrs Turner
September 2011
The proprietor was very helpful concerning a couple of questions we had prior to our holiday. A great location and plenty to do despite the bad weather; we were out every day with two very young boys. There are two local breweries within close proximity and it was nice to be able to walk to shops and not take the car. The cottage was in a lovely location and a friendly neighbour had rabbits!
Mr Ibbetson

October 2010
Cosy well equipped cottage in the heart of Masham although tucked away and quiet. The chocolates and welcoming card were nice touches and our request for an extra key was met in a friendly way. This was our second visit to the cottage. We love the walking in the area and the riding stables at Swinton. A new experience was clay pigeon shooting locally at Warren Gill - highly recommended, as is the coffee at Suncatchers in the market square (once you get past the quirky decor!)
Mrs Watts

Overall we liked the cottage, great position-quiet,but within easy reach of every amenity.Masham is a great, little town. The cottage itself just could do with a little T.L.C,a lick of paint and the carpets upstairs, cleaned.(or maybe floorboards throughout.)Also, the cottage is described as having a garden, when in reality,it is just an enclosed, concrete, yard.Luckily, this wasn't a problem for our dog as lovely,riverside/country walks are a couple of minutes away. We were lucky with the" Great British Weather" and had a glorious week.We were also lucky enough to catch the annual Muker, agricultural show in beautiful Swaledale-the highlight of our holiday,a great day out.We would return as we loved the town and surrounding area.nothing nicer on a hot, sunny, day than sipping beer in the "Bull Inn In Paradise"!

We had booked a holiday week commencing 4 April 2009 at this lovely cottage but, unfortunately, due to my Mothers' death on that day we were unable to go. However, we fully intend to return to Dairy Cottage sometime in 2010 as we have always enjoyed our holidays in Masham

This was our 2nd stay at the cottage, there were 4 adults and 1 child, but there is plenty of room. It's very handy for the village and the Bay Horse pub, which is brilliant. Also easy to get to York, Ripon and Harrogate.

Cottage was very clean, well equipped and welcoming. Facilities were excellent (including free broadband) with a large, well equipped kitchen and cosy, comfortable living room. Tucked away from the road into Masham the cottage is conveniently placed for town amenities and access to the surrounding area of Wensleydale - which is stunning. A pet friendly home from home which we hope to re-visit. Would definitely recommend.
