Driftwood Coastal Cottage description

Holiday home
This cosy semi detached cottage is in the village of Milford on Sea in Hampshire, and would be an ideal base for anyone looking to enjoy a seaside holiday or a country break. The rooms have all been decorated and equipped to a high standard, and the three bedrooms - a double, a twin and a single - are attractive and comfortable. There is an electric fire in the sitting room, and a lovely sun room, meaning this cottage is a wonderful retreat in both the summer and winter months. The village has a long beach with colourful huts and views towards the Isle of Wight, the New Forest park, ponies, walks and cycle trails are a short drive, while a ferry to the Isle of Wight itself makes a great day out.

You may even wish to hop on a ferry over to the Isle of Wight itself.

April 2016
Driftwood is a really lovely cottage in a great location. The local village has some great pubs and a really nice restaurant. The village has a real community feel to it and people were very friendly. We were very impressed with the exceptionally high standard of the accommodation, it is one of the best cottages I have ever rented! I would recommend it highly.

The bungalow was clean, bright and had a lovely seaside look about it. The garden was particularly beautiful. I have already booked to go back in November for a week.

Our 3rd visit to this charming cottage, it is a real home from home. Really unique with it's seaside theme throughout. Immaculately clean on arrival and a very pretty safe enclosed garden for children. Excellent location for sandy beaches and exploring the New Forest. We are already planning our next visit.

Comfortable, cosy cottage only 2 minutes from the sea and about 10 minutes from Milford village with its shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. The layout of the cottage was ideal with plenty of room, no stairs or steps(ideal for my grandchildren) and all the comforts of home. The central heating was excellent and soon got the cottage warm and toasty even though the weather was so cold while I was there.

Driftwood is in a picturesque and quiet street, just a short walk to both seafront and town. The property is very private, set within a lovely large garden which had ample space for children, parents and grandparents to amuse themselves. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the property was wonderful.

A lovely cottage, close to the sea and near to the town. A warm welcome for our Christmas holiday with decorations and delicious goodies.
Mr Lay-Flurrie
July 2012
The cottage is very private with a lovely suntrap garden, but despite this you are literally 5 minutes from the seafront and about 15 minutes walk from the town centre with all it's amenities. It was our second visit to this holiday home and it was particularly useful for our visit to Southampton to attend our son's graduation. We were also extremely lucky to enjoy good weather from start to finish.
Mrs Whiting

We had a wonderful holiday. We liked the area, the town and the short way to the ocean. Driftwood was beautiful and good for relaxing. The owner brought the ocean in the house, with a great collection from the strand.

We really loved the fact that the property had a theme throughout. It made you feel like you were at the seaside. We also enjoyed being so close to the sea, just a few minutes walk away. The property had everything you needed. It was light, clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a decent double bed mattress too!

Really well provisioned cottage - lots of extras and a great kitchen. Lovely garden and really great feel throughout. Very accessible for the children and a proper home away from home. The owner was really great when we couldn't find the back door keys and sorted it out immediately. Felt very welcome.

Ideal location, interesting area. Local amenities were within walking distance. We appreciated the off-road parking. Property was well laid out and good quality mattress on the double bed. Appreciated extra heating facilities as we stayed during an exceptionally cold period. Welcome pack very good.

Really easy place to spend a week at a good price, could walk to the sea, village or countryside. had friends for the day , able to cater for 6, plenty of kitchen equipment. Beds very comfortable, garden lovely and secluded. We really relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. Would have gone back for a trip in May but it was already booked! One or two issues with potential hazards - step up from seating area, real trip hazard. On arrival into parking space a low energy sensor light would have helped.
Mr Chapman
December 2010
Loved the nautical touches around the house topical and tasteful. In the evening the lighting made the lounge a lovely ambient room. House was in a great position. It was warm and cosy and we would definitely use again.
Mrs Evans
August 2010
Proximity to so many places of interest. Milford is a pretty place and sea front excellent with fabulous views. Driftwood is a place I would stay at again when visiting that part of the country. It was quiet and garden great for the kids. Fab pubs about to eat at and local shops well stocked. People so friendly.

This is a lovely clean property which offers a great location with the cliffs and beach only a few minutes walk. Rooms are a nice size except the third beroom which is part of the lounge, being seperated by a glass wall and curtains. Would be happier as a holidaymaker with a maximum of 4 guests, but you can sleep 6 if you are happy to use the third bed arrangement. Only negative to the property is not shown in the details, in that it has no front garden, being built on the road, and hence privacy in the bedrooms can only be achieved behind closed curtains. We were unlucky in that for three days of our stay the hospital on the other side of the road had extensive tree surgery being undetaken, and the noise was extensive.

The house was well situated for coast and country, especially the New Forest. A very clean and comfortable home from home!

The property is well situated for the coast and the village, but is in a quiet area and has a private garden. The property and it's furnishings conveyed a relaxed atmosphere and it was particularly lovely to go somewhere where every last teaspoon, etc, had not been itemised on the inventory.

We booked this cottage for ourselves and our four children for Christmas and everything was just perfect. Upon arrival, we noticed that the cottage had even been decorated for Christmas! The cottage was spotlessly clean, but homely, and very very comfortable and relaxing. It was fully equipped with everything we could possibly have needed, from toilet roll to gravy boat! All six of us were very comfortably accomodated; the bedrooms were of good size, and the beds were all proper- no put you ups. The cliffs and the beach were just a short walk away and the cottage was just a short drive from the supermarket. We booked this cottage for a relaxing family Christmas, which was exactly what we got and more. I highly recommend this holiday! many thanks

Travelled with my daughter and grandchildren.. We had the most wonderful time in the area, there is so much to visit or in our case revisit after several years going elswhere. The bungalow was spotless in an ideal position for visiting New Forest and the south coast.. The layout inside the bungalow is ideal for a family. and the secluded garden excellent if you have small children as they can come to no harm.
