Driftwood Cottage description

Lympstone is an idyllic village situated between Topsham and Exmouth. The village centre is a dedicated conservation area due to its outstanding natural beauty and historic importance. From Lympstone the historic city of Exeter is only 15 minutes away, with its shops and boutiques making it a haven for shoppers.

The village has a Post Office, a village store/deli, a clock tower, two great pubs serving modern and traditional food, and a sailing club. On visiting you will quickly see why Devon Life chose it as village of the year, as it's a wonderful place to holiday in.

Driftwood Cottage is situated directly opposite a slipway, offering direct access to the water. It benefits from glorious river views from the lounge and two of the bedrooms, and the golden sands of Exmouth are just minutes away. The cottage itself has been stylishly designed throughout, to ensure even the most discerning of guests don't want to leave at the end of their stay.

Driftwood Cottage offers complete luxury in its furnishings and fittings. It has a brand new kitchen, bathroom and cloakroom. It also boasts a lounge cinema while two of the bedrooms feature LCD TVs complete with integrated DVD players.

The property has a courtyard with enough space to store canoes or windsurfing equipment, so all waterside activities can be enjoyed.

The area has hundreds of local attractions and places to explore, which guarantees that all the family will have fun each and every day. The cottage would be a great family retreat, or the perfect romantic getaway.

As with many village properties, the cottage doesn't have a designated parking space but on-street parking is available in the village. There is also a car park located 100 metres from the cottage and daily tickets cost just £4. Weekly permits can also be purchased from the ticket machine at a cost of £24 per week.

Driftwood Cottage has been designed with families in mind. The Owners don’t accept bookings from mixed parties and the booking must consist of family members.


Kitchen comprises a gas oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. Full utensils and accessories including a toaster, microwave and kettle.

Features a wooden extendable dining table with seating for six.

Living Room/Area

An inviting open plan living/dining area, with spectacular views over the Exe Estuary. Furnished with a three seater sofa, arm chair and window seating for two. Features an LCD TV with integrated Freeview and Sky, and an open fire place - ideal for a cosy night in during the cooler months. Integrated lounge cinema for the ultimate cinematic experience (projected to approximately 6ft x 4ft).

Master Bedroom

Located on the top floor with breath taking views of the estuary. Furnished with a double bed, bedside tables with lamps, wardrobe with integrated drawers, LCD TV with integrated Freeview and a DVD player. Window seating for two allowing guests to take in the amazing views.

Bedroom 2

Benefits from breath taking views of the estuary. Furnished with a double bed, bedside tables with lamps, LCD TV with integrated Freeview and a DVD player. There is also a chair near the window allowing guests to enjoy the amazing views.

Bedroom 3

Furnished with a single bed and an additional pull out bed, allowing the room to be arranged as a twin or cosy double bedroom.

Family Bathroom

Located on the first floor, comprises large bath with shower mixer tap, thermostatically controlled integrated power shower, wash basin and WC. Located on the first floor, there is also a cloakroom WC with a sink and storage unit.
