Driftwood Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Driftwood is a well-maintained, traditional terraced cottage set in the heart of Eyemouth, 8 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed, in the Scottish Borders. The accommodation is set over three floors, and sleeps up to four people in three bedrooms, which comprise of one double and two singles, as well as a family bathroom. To the outside of this cottage there is roadside parking. Driftwood is a fantastic base for any group looking to spend some time by the beautiful Berwickshire coast.

Area
The fishing port of Eyemouth is set just over the Scottish border, eight miles north of the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Eyemouth has a traditional fish market supplied from local fishing boats, and the narrow cobbled streets preserve the ancient character of this charming coastal town. There are a number of visitor attractions outlining the history of the area, including its smuggling past. The cliff-top golf course and a number of other courses in the area mean the town is a golfing haven; there are also castles and National Trust properties all within a short drive. Both Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne can be reached in an hour, making Eyemouth a perfect base for touring Scotland and the North of England.

Region
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Gas central heating with electric fire. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, 2 x TVs with Freeview, Blu-ray, WiFi, selection of books, games and DVDs. The house was fantastic and well kept, I would recommend it to anyone. Love the area and this is by far the best holiday accommodation we have rented.

THIS IS OUR SECOND TIME TO DRIFTWOOD COTTAGE. LAST TIME WE WERE THERE WE COMMENTED THAT THE ONLY PROBLEM WE FOUND WAS THE LACK OF HANDRAIL ON THE STAIRS, BUT I AM VERY PLEASED TO REPORT THAT A HANDRAIL HAS BEEN INSTALLED THE FULL LENGTH OF THE STAIRS. MUCH APPRECIATED. ALSO A VERY GOOD WELCOME PACK SUPPLIED.

The cottage was cosy. The cottage is in such a great location, 5 minutes from the beach and harbour, shops, swimming pool and the start of coastal walks. There are lots of interesting places to visit in Eyemouth, but also Edinburgh, and Holy Island are fairly easy to get to if you have a car. The people are really friendly in the town, and we had the feeling that they really wanted us to enjoy our holiday! Absolutely brilliant.

Cottage was comfortable and attractive, lovely to be able to see the sea. Close to Eyemouth centre, harbour and amenities. We really liked Eyemouth, interesting, friendly place. Lovely coastal walks.

The cottage is in a really good location within Eyemouth, very close to the sea and shops. There is a good pub, The Contented Sole, nearby for meals as well as a good fish and chip shop. The cottage itself is on three floors with an excellent kitchen on the ground floor and a good size lounge on the first floor. For a reasonably priced cottage it's very well equipped and lots of room.

We spent 3 nights in the cottage in October 2013 which was very enjoyable. The house was very well appointed including free WiFi.We arrived to find a very substantial welcome pack. The town of Eyemouth is very nice with lovely surrounding countryside and a lovely harbour with seals arriving each day hoping to be fed. As we were there for 3 nights we had no requirement for a washing machine but had I stayed for a week I would rather have had a washing machine than a dishwasher.I had a round of golf at Eyemouth Golf Club which I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend it.They serve food regardless of whether you play golf so it's worth a visit even if you don't golf as the view from the clubhouse is lovely.
