This cottage looks ordinary on the outside but is very nicely appointed and furnished on the inside. It is comfortable and tastefully decorated, clean, quiet and very pleasant to stay in for a week for us as two parents and two small children (aged 3 and 1). It has all the kitchen appliances and cooking utensils that you need, spacious bedrooms but only one bathroom (so perhaps not ideal for 5 adults to stay in for example). Also there are two other properties that are accessed via the small rear yard so you lose a bit of privacy; there is no garden with this property.
The main downside is the location. The cottage is on a bland street of terraced homes that overlook a small rehabilitation hospital and the main sandy beach is a good 20 minute walk. Banff is not a particularly attractive town and seems quite run-down in places and with petty crime issues. Nearby towns such as Cullen, Portsoy and Buckie would probably make for a more enjoyable family holiday.
