Ellishayes Farmhouse is a delightful 16th century, Grade II listed farmhouse, offering a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to all its visitors. Set in a quiet corner of the Blackdown Hills, surrounded by 74 acres of farmland, it is a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing holiday in the countryside. With the coast within easy reach for days out, you really can enjoy the best of both worlds with a stay here. The property is completely self-contained and shares an entrance hallway with the owner’s home and dance studio. Overlooking a beautiful Devonshire valley inspiring you to walk, fish, horse ride and cycle to explore this peaceful area away from the stress of daily living. There are many original features still in the property including wood panelling, beams and an Inglenook with bread oven. The property has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard. The property is spacious with a large living room with woodburner or a cosy snug with a wood burner, and a dining room with table football and a piano; it’s a great place for friends to get together, or special occasions or a large family holiday. Ellishayes Farmhouse is ideally placed for exploring the Blackdown Hill, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Honiton, centre of lace and antiques and Exeter, the cathedral city of Devon and the south Devon coastline. Combe Raleigh is a small, picturesque village (15th century church) in the Otter Valley at the foot of the Blackdown Hills, 1½ miles north of Honiton. Owned by the Raleigh family in the late 13th century, with many historic houses/gardens nearby. Luppitt, 3½ miles, has an interesting historic pub. World Heritage ’Jurassic Coast’ and beaches at Sidmouth, Branscombe, Beer and Seaton, 11 miles, and fossils at Lyme Regis and Charmouth, 15 miles. Golf, 3 miles.
