The cottage accommodation is laid out as follows:
The reception room has comfy seating, open fireplace, TV & DVD player, windows overlooking the front of the house, very bright dining room with seating for 6 people, window with fabulous sea and mountain views, open fireplace. Kitchen area with oven, microwave, fridge/freezer. Door leading to back garden which is fully enclosed. Two double bedrooms with spectacular water and land views, further twin bedroom overlooking the front of the property. The bathroom has a bath and shower overhead.
To the side of the property is a large garage which is ideal for storing wet gear, fishing rods, kayaks, surf boards & bikes. There is also a separate WC.
Fully enclosed garden to front and back of the property - ideal for children. There is a stone table, garden furniture and a BBQ provided where you could enjoy eating Al Fresco whilst overlooking spectacular scenery enjoying a glass of Chardonnay! There is ample parking to the front of the cottage.
Errislannan Manor Horse Riding School is within close proximity of the cottage. Sheltered by a surrounding wood the
Manor overlooks the trout lake and is bounded by Connemara's moors and mountains. It houses the Errislannan Manor
Connemara Pony Stud & Riding Centre.
Connemara Champonship Golf Course is within close distance. This Eddie Hackett designed course is set in stunning, rugged countryside. The back nine has been described as the equal of any in the world. Situated in Aillebrack, Ballyconneely overlooking the Atlantic Ocean it offers 360 degree views of the Golf Course and the unique Connemara landscape. This is a wonderful place to stop off and enjoy lunch or dinner after a round of golf or a walk on the surrounding beaches. Dun Loughin surfing beach is closeby to this course.
Connemara National Park, Daimond Hill & Kylemore Abbey is a must see for visitors to the area.
There is a multitude of options for walkers, climbers or those looking for a relaxing break. Enough to please even the most discerning of visitors! Ballyconneely peninsula is virtually ringed by beaches - from the Coral Strand at Derrygimla, west and north to Knock, Mannin, Dun Loughan and Truska, and east and south from Keeraunmore, Aillebrack, and Ballyconneely Bay to Calla, Dolan and Murvey. From Cleggan Fishing Village you can get a boat to Inishbofin Island where there are lovely walks, hire a bike and view the Island, stop off in Day's Hotel for lunch and a pint!
Clifden the Capital of Connemara - 4 miles away - oozing history, heritage, culture & traditions of Irish Music and Dance. This vibrant town has an array of shops ranging from quality gifts, souvenirs, sweaters to fashionable boutiques, antique shops and art galleries. There are many cosy coffee shops, a bakery, pubs that are genuine 'quaint-Irish' to the more trendy where entertainment is plentiful with traditional, modern music and dance. Clifden has a reputation for the West's 'Gourmet Capital' – it has the finest of restaurants from fine dining to pub food. There is also a small cinema and theatre in the Station House complex.
There are some beautiful drives in the area, one of the most famous scenic tourist attractions in Ireland is ‘The SkyRoad’ which boasts the most panoramic breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean. There are private boat trips to explore the various local secluded islands such with their white sandy beaches and local wild life, pure pockets of beauty where time stands still. This house is a perfect setting to relax and unwind after a day of touring the beautiful coastline of Connemara.
There’s no end of sea fishing opportunities in Connemara so you can test your angling prowess! And with plentiful fish stocks it’s no wonder anglers flock here all year round. Popular spots for anglers include the harbour at Erislannan Point, the sheltered bay at Candoolin (close to the cottage) and Mannin Bay. Mannin Bay in particular has good innings for the small boat angler. Plaice is the most popular catch in this area while nearby Ballyconneely Bay has great potential for catching tope, ray, dogfish and Pollack.
