Fairfield Family Cottage description

Holiday home
Fairfield is a semi-detached, brick built cottage in a quiet residential estate just a 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Chirk near to Llangollen. The cottage has three bedrooms, one double and two singles, which with the addition of a family bathroom, makes it suitable for four people. The cottage also contains a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a living room with an electric fire. Outside the cottage is off road parking for two cars and a patio garden with outdoor furniture and a summerhouse. Just a short drive from Chester, Wrexham, Llangollen and the mountains of North Wales, Fairfield is a lovely cottage for a holiday spent exploring this part of the country.

Chirk is small town which offers a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants, golf course and marina but is best known for the famous 13th century Chirk Castle and gardens, now run by the National Trust, as well as the wonderful 70-foot-high Chirk Aqueduct built by Thomas Telford. Close by, the Vale of Llangollen, with its dramatic mountain backdrop and boulder-strewn River Dee, is the setting for Llangollen. Llangollen offers a good range of pubs and restaurants as well as many interesting shops.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Gas central heating with electric fire in sitting room. Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, TV, DVD, WiFi. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot, highchair and stairgate. Off road parking for 2 cars. Rear patio garden with large summerhouse and garden furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops 10 mins walk, pub 15 mins walk. The cottage was warm and welcoming at a particularly cold and grey time of year. A real bonus!A very well equipped and comfortable home.

A comfortable, well appointed 'home from home' in a good location.

Although the weather was very cold this property was warm and cosy, the heating system was easy to operate and very efficient. A lovely place to spend Christmas, and to wake up and see snow covered hills from the bedroom was a real delight.

A very roomy and comfortable holiday home, ideal for long stays - it was a 'home from home'. A quiet rural setting with good road links to main routes. Pleasant and relaxing with good walks along Llangollen Canal. We hope to stay again later this year.

For us the whole experience of staying at Fairfield was most enjoyable. The accommodation was first class. We were made so very welcome by the owner, who had written a letter in which she said - I hope you enjoy your stay at Fairfield, and that there were eggs and milk in the fridge as a welcome gift. The house was clean, bright, and had everything we needed. We made very good use of the little summer house and our neighbours were most friendly.

Location was ideal for Chester, Llangollen etc. There was everything in the house needed for a weeks stay. Would definitely look at booking it again.

Situated in a quiet part of Chirk, this was ideal. In easy reach of all the sites of interest. Have already phoned the owner to say what a fantastic time was had. Will definitely return here in the future. Out of 5 stars, I'd give it 10!

This was a lovely little three bedroomed property in a good location on the outskirts of Chirk which was very quiet and peaceful. It was in a great central location for touring the area and the owner kindly left us some milk and eggs which were greatly appreciated.

This house was lovely, there was ample space, and more than enough appliances in the property. My children did not want to leave this house or the area. Lovely neighbours that make you feel welcome, as well as the owner. I am hoping to book this house again next year.

A very comfortable property set in a great, central position.
August 2014
Lovely little home ideally suited for a family of four. Could not fault the house except for the lounge TV being too small and positioned too high on the wall. Location perfect as it is situated close to Chirk Castle but also ideal for Llangollen and the Wrexham area.
May 2013
House was very cosy with good central heating as the weather was rather cool. Didn't get chance to use the garden or the nice looking 'chalet' in the garden which would have been nice for children to use.
