My wife and I ,son and daughter in law and our Collie dog spent a week at the cottage in June 2014. A very quiet position but well placed for visiting local places of interest and especially liked by our dog due to the country walks immediately on our doorstep. The accommodation is compact (but satisfactory for the size of our party) clean and bright.Parking was excellent. The facilities were good and the kitchen brightly lit and modern.

Everything you could want from a holiday rental, clean, warm, and very welcoming, right down to the home made cake on the table when we arrived. The cottage is attached to a larger property, and they can be booked together for larger groups. All the fixtures and fittings worked, and were to a good standard. The kitchen was also well fitted and had everything you could need. Add to that comfortable beds and you have all the boxes ticked. We would have no hesitation in using this cottage again when we are next in the area.

Farmyard Cottage was well presented and in a beautiful village. The huge trampoline was enjoyed by my daughter and wife! There are a lot of great places to visit nearby, including Castle Howard( Brides head revisited) , Eden Camp, the North York Moors and the seaside resorts.

The cottage was like a home from home; very comfortable and easy going. My husband liked being able to look around the farm and chat to the owner. We would highly recommend to anyone and would return.

The Cottage in its peaceful village setting was just right for 4 adults with it's 2 en-suite bedrooms. Our dog loved his daily walks around the village exploring the lanes and paddling in the beck. We would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and would stay here again if we re-visit the beautiful area.

We had a lovely holiday. It was a great location for access to Scarborough, Whitby and Filey and the cottage was nice and cosy with everything we needed. The garden/play area was brilliant. We will be telling our family and friends and hope to return ourselves in the future.

We enjoyed a lovely stay in the cottage. It was perfect for ourselves and our two children aged 5 and 7. The garden was a huge bonus and the children loved it. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cottage for a family holiday. It was a great central location to visit the coast plus York and Dalby forest.

The farmer was extremely helpful. The cottage was clean and warm. The area was exceptionally pretty and convenient for places of interest either inland or on the coast. The welcome cake, milk and one or two other bits was appreciated. The linen was very clean and the towels looked brand new.

Travelled down with our neighbour for a three night stay. We were pleasantly surprised on arriving to find a home made Victoria sponge cake waiting for us, and a pint of milk in the fridge. The cottage was clean, warm and very nicely equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. We took our dog and the area around Allerston is perfect for dog walking. All in all a great success.

Our 3 night stay was over the New Year period and we found the accommodation to be well presented and ready for us even though we arrived early. A very welcome gesture was the sponge cake the owner had baked for us. The local pub was very welcoming on New Year's Eve. The location was ideal for visiting North Yorkshire Moors and the East Coast. There was a distinct lack of sufficient crockery (serving bowls/casserole dishes) and cooking utensils although we did manage to get by. We especially liked the accommodation as both bedrooms were en suite and as our daughter had very recently had a hip replacement the downstairs room was a bonus.
