Cosy cottage in a convenient town location. The cottage was very clean, nicely decorated and well-appointed. We stayed for a week whilst walking the Coast to Coast and the cottage is right on the route.

Fantastic cottage, it was well laid out and well equipped, it was like a home from home. We would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a pleasurable break. I am also looking forward to a return holiday there.

This was our return trip to this lovely cottage, and it was equally as good as this first time. We were most comfortable and had everything we needed for a truly relaxing holiday. Lovely walks that are literally on the doorstep and some lovely pubs on the way gave us some enjoyable days out. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

We liked the cottage's location with it being a walk from shops/cafes and in a good proximity to local Poet's Walk Park. The view from viaduct was fantastic and we liked the fact we could bring our dog and liked the small terraced area out back. Overall, we found the cottage to be cosy and welcoming and wouldn't hesitate to return next year.

Great location for walks and local amenities. Fantastic scenery and plethora of family-friendly and more adventurous walks. Close to lots of activities as well as the Lakes. In sum, this was a lovely retreat from which to base our exploring with its clean, modern furnishings in a traditional brick cottage.

Great location - lovely town with a high standard of amenities within walking distance of the front door. People were very friendly and there was easy access to The Lakes and Fells from the door. All this and a lovely warm comfortable place to stay. Thank you!

Fettler's Cottage is a well equipped, comfortable, clean cottage. It gives a great base for days out, we strongly recommend the Classic Cumbria Coaches which run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Our children enjoyed the cupboard full of board and card games. The Fat Lamb offers great food and good free WIFI. We would love to visit there again one day.

We loved Fettler's Cottage in Kirkby Stephen. It was perfect for our Christmas holiday. It was spotless, charming and the perfect location to enjoy walking in the surrounding countryside which has many routes clearly marked. The owner even decorated it for us and put up a real Christmas tree. We had a wonderful time and are already planning our next visit.

We enjoyed our week away in this lovely cottage. Ideally situated for shops, cafes & restaurants and the town is really pleasant. Plenty of walks nearby but close enough to the Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales for day trips. The cottage has everything you would need and is very comfortable and also great value for money - would definately recommend a stay here.

The Cottage is in a good location, well decorated, maintained and spotlessly clean. It well worth it for the price we paid, but there were a few minor issues It was very cold in the evening, but we could not access the cupboard where the central heating was kept to turn it on. We could not turn on the gas fire the ignition system seems to be broke. Bedside lamps in master bedroom do not work, I tried replacing them with new bulbs but there seems to be an electrical fault. We found one small bath towel and one hand towel for each guest insufficient for our of one week stay. There was only one tea towel in the kitchen and one plastic bin liner also insufficient for one a week stay. The key safe at the back door is very difficult to open if you are not used to this type Over the years we have stayed in Kirkby Steven quite a lot and comparing them against the best in this price range, it is most definitely up there. Apart from these (minor issues) it was the only thing stopped us giving it an excellent score we had a fantastic week at Fettler's cottage Thank you Shaun and Mary

This is a very cosy cottage with everything we could ask for. It was very clean and well equipped for our stay in Kirkby Stephen. It is well positioned to allow visitors to enjoy the town's facilities without the need to drive. I would happily recommend this cottage as a comfortable and warm base to enjoy a break in a very friendly and welcoming Cumbrian town, and my wife and I hope to stay again in the future

The cottage was very clean and well equipped. Local map sent to ensure we could get keys. Loads of literature on local events and timetables, and information about the history of the cottage itself. The rooms were lovely and bright and of a good standard of furniture. Unfortunately no Internet access and limited mobile phone access, which is great if you want to escape from everyone :) The Cumbria Classic Coaches are fantastic value and 2 great days out to The Wendsleydale Cheese Factory and Barnard Castle. Thanks for a great stay :)

Had a great weeks holiday in this lovely cottage, spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable, has everything you need. beds also really comfortable. Kirkby Stephen is a great place to base yourself. Also the cottage is 2 mins walk from all the facilities. We ate in the Kings Arms and also the Nateby inn in the next village, both very good value and lovely food. We also enjoyed various walks round the local countryside with our dog Herbie. We visited the cheese factory at Hawes, Kendal and Ambleside. We were also lucky enough to see the annual sheep sales at the Auction mart in Kirkby Stephen. Locals very friendly and a place I would recommend and also recommend Fettlers Cottage and we hope to return sometime in the future.
