Fisherman's Cottage Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Fisherman's Cottage is a traditionally-built stone cottage which has been brought fully up-to-date and is located in the fishing village of Seahouses in Northumberland. The three bedrooms comprise two doubles and one twin which with the family bathroom make it suitable for six people. There is a fitted kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area and a living flame electric fire. Just a couple of minutes walk from the harbour, Fisherman's Cottage is a charming, pleasantly furnished and well-equipped property which is perfect for groups of family or friends enjoying this beautiful part of Northumberland.

Area
Seahouses is a charming fishing village in an ideal situation - close to some of Northumberland's loveliest beaches and in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Keen walkers will enjoy the chance to tackle the six-mile Northumberland Coast Path, and daily boat trips are made to the Farne Islands. The islands are famous for their large seabird colonies and are the home of the Grey Seal. The majestic and historic Bamburgh and Alnwick Castles are within easy reach of Seahouses, and the Budle Bay Nature Reserve is another popular destination.

Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

We were very pleased and impressed with Fisherman's Cottage - the pictures do not do it justice - we found it to be much more spacious than it looked. It was warm, cosy and lovely with excellent lighting. The bedrooms were spacious with lots of storage. The location was great too - 1 minute to the harbour. We hope to return and will definitely recommend to friends.

The modernisation of the property is imaginative and practical and executed to a brilliant standard of craftsmanship, particularly the joinery work. Appliances were good brand names, furniture comfortable. Seahouses is a good venue for most aspects of a country holiday, walking direct from cottage, plenty of wildlife, both mammalian and avian; historical interest.

The property we stayed at reflected very well the description online and more than met all our expectations. I would definitely recommend Sykes to others.

The area did it for us and also the friendliness of the people. The Olde Ship serves excellent food and has a great atmosphere. A little further afield at Rennington, The Horseshoes Inn serves superb food also. We found most of the local establishments very dog friendly. The walks around the area give breathtaking views and are to be highly recommended.
Mrs Doyle

We stayed here in september 2013, me and my partner,my mam and dad and brother his partner..... Cottage looks much nicer that the photo on sykes website as there is new door and looks fab.... Inside very spacious sitting room, with sofa and table and chairs, lovely fire and flat screen tv... Kitchen fully equiped and fab... upstairs there is 3 bedrooms and 2 are double the other twin room... Nice bathroom but felt when 6 of us there was bit hard sorting when to use bathroom for shower etc.... but when some people went wasnt as bad... The only downside I would say is that there is no outside area, so cant kjust sit outside and relax, the front is straight onto street and the back just an area with bins etc ... Apart from that we cant complain and would think about returning next year

A well equipped cottage in a quiet street close enough to the village centre to not have to worry about the walk. No car parking close by but that didn't impact negatively on our stay. We just felt really comfortable there and hope to return.

This property was just as described. It was very clean and tidy with all the facilities you would need. The property is well situated for getting into the town. The only minus point for it was the parking. Although a parking voucher was provided for the car park, the car park was a good 10 minutes walk away from the cottage. Other than this the cottage is everything you would want from a holiday let.

September 2010
The service was 1st class, my wife is disabled and on oxygen 24 hrs a day.Mrs Jackson ensured the delivery and collection of the oxygen. She showed concern over our well being during our stay. The cottage was excellent for our needs, nice and clean and tidy with ample room to cater for my wife's needs. The cottage was on the doorstep of all local amenities, two minutes and you where at the shops and in the evening to the night life. I can't fault our holiday as everything from the cottage to the amenities to the weather was all you could ask for.

Well situated in the town and although it was a town it was very quiet and peaceful. Not what you would imagine if you live in or near a town yourself. The cottage was very clean and spacious with everything you could possibly need. the beach was no more than five minutes away which more than made up for the property having no outside area of its own.

The accommodation was very central to Seahouses village and all local amenities. The cottage was clean, tidy and nicely presented with everything you require for a comfortable stay. I would definately come again. Only negative comment would be the parking. A neighbour has space for one car, otherwise you need to use public car parks.

Sykes cottage proved to be one of the nicest holiday rentals in which we have stayed. It is well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The location, althought seemingly in a small road of terraced cottages, proved to be exceptional with views of the Harbor, Bamburgh Castle and the Farned Islands being only one minutes walk away. Highly recommended.
